I ordered a Napier57066 Sportz Truck Tent Compact Short Bed from Factory Authorized Outlet on Saturday, 6/13/10, as a birthday gift for my son. Since the company is near Ontario, I called on Monday the 15th to inquire about picking it up. An associate mentioned it was shipping from Napier and explained it would take 1-3 business days. When I called on Tuesday the 16th for shipping details, there were none, but I was assured it would arrive by Friday after an email was sent to Napier.
After another call on the 17th yielded no shipping information, I contacted Napier directly. They informed me that the item I purchased was on backorder until mid-July, a detail Factory Authorized Outlet never shared during my multiple inquiries.
Frustrated, I sought alternatives and found CARiD. Although they didn't have the Napier tent in stock either, they offered a different brand at a lower price. I ended up purchasing a truck tent and mattress from them for a total of $[redacted].67, saving $81.92 compared to Factory Authorized Outlet. I believe Factory Authorized Outlet should refund me this difference for their lack of transparency and follow-up during my calls.
