Subject: Ticket Refund Concern - Itinerary#:[redacted][redacted]
I encountered an issue with obtaining a refund for tickets purchased on March 5, [redacted], for a trip from Honolulu to Kahului scheduled for April 12 to April 15, [redacted], due to COVID-19 travel restrictions. Despite contacting Hawaiian Airlines as advised by Expedia, we were informed via email on May 4, [redacted], that a refund could not be granted. Subsequent attempts to seek assistance from Expedia were unsuccessful, with Hawaiian Airlines advising me to contact Expedia for resolution. As seniors on a fixed income, we are merely seeking a refund for tickets rendered unusable by the pandemic. Your reconsideration of our request is greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Jadwiga and Olgierd Straszynski

I've been attempting to contact Expedia.ca to cancel my 3-night stay at the Aqua Aloha Surf Waikiki in Honolulu from Sept. 27-30, [redacted]. My Royal Caribbean cruise got canceled due to the Coronavirus outbreak, and the hotel mentioned that I need to deal with Expedia for any refunds or credits. However, Expedia seems unresponsive to the current situation in Hawaii where tourists are restricted. Without a refund or credit, I can't afford to book another hotel stay. My itinerary number is [redacted][redacted]. Any assistance regarding this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Hello, I'm Stephen Tarongoy. I need to cancel my trip to the Philippines due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. My Itinerary number is #[redacted][redacted]. I have received advice from important contacts at Mactan Cebu International Airport (MCIA) and the Secretary of the Department of Transportation in the Philippines, lawyer Atty. Arthur Tugade, informing me of the escalating situation with the virus in Cebu. Given these circumstances that are beyond my control, I kindly request a full refund for my previously booked ticket.

I made a reservation for a 2-night stay at London Extended Stay Hotel in London, Ontario. However, upon arrival, they refused to provide me with a room due to the type of credit card I used, even though my payment had already been accepted. When I requested a refund from the hotel, I was directed to contact Expedia, as the transaction was made through their platform. After speaking with a representative named "Dan" who falsely claimed I had stayed at the hotel, I encountered difficulties in obtaining my refund. Despite being reassured by another representative that I would receive my $[redacted] refund, I faced challenges navigating their automated system to follow up on my case. As of now, I have not yet received my refund and I am eager to have this matter resolved promptly.

I made a cruise reservation with booking number [redacted]3. After receiving an email from Expedia on April 12 promising a full refund within 5 to 7 days, I am still waiting for the refund. Despite numerous calls and emails with over [redacted] attempts, and filing a complaint with the BBB, I have not received a resolution. Lidiya Nash from Expedia mentioned they tried to call me, but my phone logs show otherwise. I insist on a full refund credited back to my credit card. Unfortunately, Lidiya Nash did not leave any contact details for me to reach out. I have also tried contacting the cruise ship directly without success. The customer service experience with Expedia has been extremely frustrating. I am hopeful that a supervisor can address my refund concerns promptly. Thank you, Edward Irwin.

Hello,
During a stay in Outaouais, I wanted to book a hotel room for the night of July 25th in Notre-Dame de Pontmain. I searched online and was suggested Auberge du Draveur. After booking, I received an email confirmation and realized the inn was actually in Maniwaki. I called Auberge du Draveur to cancel and asked if I should contact Expedia to do so. The person I spoke to assured me the charge wouldn't be taken and canceled the reservation. Trusting them, I left. My itinerary number is [redacted][redacted]. When I checked my credit account online, I noticed a charge of $[redacted].17 for the room reservation. I contacted Expedia by phone on July 27th, but I haven't received the refund on my credit account yet. I would like to know if it's being processed and to receive confirmation of the refund.
Thank you for your cooperation and have a great day.

Hello, my contact with Expedia about my refund regarding a canceled hotel reservation in March and April has been ongoing. Initially, we were informed the refund would come in 30 days, then 90 days, meaning we expected it by July [redacted]. The reservation was canceled due to covid as the hotel shut down. Expedia assured me we would get the refund. I am waiting to know the status and when the refund, which should be credited back to my visa card, will be processed. The original reservation was for 1 room on April 25-26, totaling Canadian $[redacted].77 for 2 nights, prepaid on my visa under the name Irene Gregson. I have had lengthy discussions with Expedia and was promised the refund back on my visa. The itinerary numbers are either [redacted][redacted] or [redacted][redacted]. Waiting for your prompt update. Thank you.

On February 27, [redacted], my son-in-law, K. T., made a booking for a family vacation from Windsor (YQG) to Cancun (CUN) for March 23, [redacted], during the Canadian school break. The total cost of Booking Number [redacted] was $4,[redacted].00, covering airfare and an all-inclusive stay at the 5-star Riu Yucatan hotel. Unfortunately, this trip was canceled due to COVID, and we were informed that a refund was not possible, only a credit. This is unsatisfactory as our travel window was limited due to paternity leave, and our infant would no longer fly for free. The cancellation was beyond our control. We insist on a full refund from Expedia.ca, the booking agent for this vacation involving Sunwing Airlines, Tour East Holidays, and/or Signature Vacations. We trusted Expedia.ca to handle our family trip, and without the refund, we will be unable to plan a similar one soon. We kindly request the full amount paid on February 27, [redacted], to be credited back to Mr. Trudell's account.

Hello,
I would like to share my experiences with Alibaba:
1. I received contact details from Alibaba and paid a vendor $40. Unfortunately, the item was cancelled as I found out that there were dishonest people trying to cheat me, and I did not receive my money back.
2. After receiving contact information from Alibaba, I paid another vendor $[redacted], only to be asked for an additional $[redacted] more than the agreed price. I did not receive my money back in this case either.
3. Lastly, I purchased a product for $[redacted], but the shipping cost was nearly five times the original price, and I have yet to receive the item.
It is disappointing to see fraud happening on such a large online platform like Alibaba.
Thank you,
Krishan

I made a booking on Expedia for a trip to Disney in September that needs to be canceled. The booking was made through the Expedia website for a home with a 20% deposit of $[redacted].54 CAD. The reservation directs us to iHome resorts, where we are staying. Despite multiple attempts, I have been unsuccessful in getting a total refund from my deposit. I must receive the refund by August 29th. Every person I spoke with advises me to contact iHome resort for the refund, with little success. The lady at the resort is unresponsive and unhelpful. I have booked through Expedia numerous times without issue before. Given that the reservation was made through your website, I hope you can assist me in resolving this matter. Dealing with this situation and the lack of assistance is deeply disappointing. The reservation ID is [redacted]0, Itinerary # is [redacted][redacted].

I am disappointed with Expedia. Despite several phone calls and promises of a quick resolution, I was denied boarding by the airline due to the Taiwan government's restrictions. The airline directed me to seek a refund from Expedia. I have been a loyal customer for over 10 years, spending between $10,[redacted] and $20,[redacted] USD annually. I am not asking for much, just for Expedia to do the right thing. I arrived at the airport at 2 pm local time and was informed about the entry denial by the Taiwan government at 6 pm during check-in. I had purchased two tickets, one from Japan to Taiwan for October 1st and the other from Taiwan to Amsterdam for October 5th. Losing $[redacted] CAD during COVID-19 is significant to me. Please do not risk losing a loyal customer of over a decade for the sake of a few hundred dollars.

I made a flight booking on Expedia.ca with AirCanada for September 24, [redacted]. However, the flight was canceled by AirCanada without any prior notification from Expedia or AirCanada. I received the confirmation email on my current email, [redacted], but the cancellation notice was sent to my old email, [redacted]
I was offered $[redacted] in coupons by Expedia Canada as good faith compensation for the inconvenience. I used the coupons after several calls with customer service. Unfortunately, I mistakenly booked my stay at Centro Motel Calgary from October 18 to 21, [redacted], instead of October 11 to 14, [redacted].
When I tried to correct the dates on Expedia, I encountered difficulties, and now Expedia is refusing to return the $[redacted] coupon, even though I cancelled the reservation. I would appreciate it if this coupon matter can be resolved promptly. Thank you for your assistance.
Sincerely,
Peter Burke

I made a reservation through Expedia for a trip in November [redacted] from Edmonton, Alberta to Orlando, including a cruise to the Western Caribbean. Our departure from Edmonton was scheduled for March 9, [redacted], around the time the coronavirus outbreak started. Despite our concerns, Expedia assured us the situation was contained in Asia, not North America. We decided to cancel the cruise due to our fears. We agreed to book a trip to Cancun instead and asked for a refund for the cruise. Expedia agreed to process the refund and asked us to pay for the Cancun tickets first. When we returned to Canada on March 18, [redacted], we immediately faced border closures due to the pandemic. Following a 14-day quarantine, I lost my job, which I have not been able to recover. In June, Expedia informed us that they could not provide a refund and offered a credit for the cruise instead. Given the exceptional circumstances we are all facing globally, and with the uncertainty of a second wave looming, I cannot understand why a refund is not possible. If we had known a refund was not an option, we would not have proceeded with the Cancun trip. We were relying on the refund as we are in a financially challenging situation. I hope for a fair resolution. Thank you, Narinder Johal.

I made a flight booking on September 10 for a trip from Minneapolis to Toronto and then on to Victoria, BC on November 1, [redacted]. The itinerary number is [redacted][redacted], and the Air Canada confirmation number is WWKWW6. On October 8, [redacted], Air Canada cancelled the Minneapolis to Toronto flight but not the Toronto to Victoria one. I received notification from Expedia on the same day about the cancellation. When I called to cancel, I was told I couldn't get a refund but could rebook a flight for the next two years. I insisted on a refund and spoke with a customer service representative based in Cairo, Egypt. The total cost of the flight was $[redacted]. I believe Air Canada's actions were suspicious, especially given the recent announcement by the Canadian government regarding refunds for all cancelled flights during the Covid period. I am requesting a full refund for the cancelled flight and would appreciate updates on the refund process. Thank you. C. Menet

I made a flight booking to Hawaii (Itinerary # [redacted][redacted]) in early March [redacted] through Expedia for CA $[redacted].74. Due to the Pandemic, we had to cancel our trip. Hawaiian Airlines provided a credit for a future flight valid until March [redacted]. However, we are not comfortable traveling to Hawaii at present or in the future due to the ongoing situation. We have requested a refund from Hawaiian Airlines for the total amount but they advised us to contact Expedia for the refund since the tickets were not issued yet. We are seeking a refund of CA $[redacted].74 for the canceled Itinerary from Expedia. The matter remains unresolved, and I hoped for assistance, but it seems it's not feasible. Thank you.

I made a reservation for a trip to Romania using my husband's credit. When I attempted to book a trip for myself through the same agent, there were issues with the way the flight was reserved. I asked the agent to cancel it, and he said I would receive a refund within 3 business days. Normally, a confirmation email is sent immediately, but I never received one.
Deciding not to use my credit this time, I booked a trip myself with the same flights as my husband. I have yet to receive a refund for the canceled reservation. There were many miscommunications with the agent, as he tried to charge me for a one-way trip instead of a round trip as requested.
Furthermore, there is no itinerary number, only a reservation number (HNNHCS for myself and KBWHSL for my husband), making it hard to make changes to the booking. I received a message from Expedia that part of my trip was canceled, but nothing for my husband's ticket, even though we share the same flight.
I am concerned about mistakes in these reservations and need guidance on obtaining my refund, confirming if my husband's reservation is valid, and obtaining his ticket number to speak with Expedia. I have attempted to call Expedia but have been unable to reach anyone after a 3-hour hold. I appreciate a prompt response. Thank you.

I received an email from Air Canada today regarding a schedule change for my upcoming trip. They informed me that my original flight option from Kelowna, BC, Canada to Cairo, Egypt on April 2nd is no longer available. After contacting them, I was rebooked for a flight scheduled on April 22nd. I am in need of getting to Cairo sooner than that date and would like to explore my options for canceling or rebooking. Unfortunately, I have been unsuccessful in reaching anyone through multiple phone numbers despite waiting on hold for approximately 50 minutes each time. Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,
I need assistance with my travel booking. My itinerary number is [redacted][redacted]. Recently, my family of four had to cancel our trip due to my health issues following a surgery. We are unable to navigate the current travel restrictions, including the need to stay in a motel upon return to await COVID test results. Additionally, the financial burden for such arrangements is overwhelming for us.
We promptly canceled our tickets within 24 hours of booking through Expedia.ca, but our refund request was denied when contacting their customer service. We then reached out to the airline for a refund, only to be redirected back to Expedia.ca. Despite numerous attempts to reach Expedia.ca via phone, I have faced long hold times, sudden disconnections, and no resolution.
I kindly request a full refund for all four tickets to be processed back to the original form of payment used. Thank you for your assistance in addressing this matter.

I booked flights to meet my wife in Punta Cana on January 31, [redacted]. She resides in Kiev, while I'm in Regina, SK. We haven't seen each other in 14 months. Air France sent an email on January 30, announcing they would cease flights from Europe on January 3. I contacted Expedia to cancel our flights, but now Air France won't refund us, insisting we contact Expedia. Expedia, however, says Air France is responsible for the refund. This conflicting information is frustrating.
I won't be able to use the flight credit from Air France or American Airlines in the future, and I can't afford to lose over $2,[redacted]. My flight details are:
- My itinerary: #[redacted][redacted], Richard S.
- My wife's itinerary: #[redacted][redacted], Viktoriia S.
Please assist us.

I received an email from Expedia regarding a refund for a cancelled flight I booked. The email mentions that I can opt for a refund instead of keeping the airline credit if I wish. To request the refund, I need to click a link by 4/30/[redacted]. It notes that due to COVID-19-related cancellations, the refund process may take around 12 weeks or more. The email specifies that the refund request is only for the listed flight and excludes any non-refundable booking fees. It also mentions that if I booked other eligible flights, I'll receive separate emails for each. The email ends with well wishes for health, safety, and gratitude for my business, assuring me that Expedia will be ready to assist me with my future travel plans. Unfortunately, I encountered an error when trying to request the refund through the link provided.
