I am currently enrolled in the Spanish course and have noticed a recurring theme in every lesson - the emphasis on "caballos" (horses). I am curious as to why this noun is consistently highlighted over others. While it is essential to incorporate a variety of vocabulary words, the matching activities predominantly feature "caballos," leaving little room for other words like "silla" (chair) or "sombrero" (hat) to be practiced. It would be beneficial to diversify the vocabulary used in the exercises to provide a more comprehensive learning experience.

I have a Duolingo account where I am at levels , , and in languages, but it lacks the "words" vocabulary or immersion option. After attempting to open a new account to find one with immersion without success, I came across one with the words vocab option. Can my progress be transferred to this new account so that I can utilize the "words vocab" tab on the new one?

I reached level 3 in Spanish but when I logged in, it reverted back to level 1-2. I suspect I may have two accounts and the wrong one loaded. I can't recall the password for the other account which hasn't been used in a while. I was working on Time in Spanish at level 3. I hope you can restore my progress as this is the second time I've had to start over due to this issue. I also submitted a detailed report. My current user name is greghood1 / greghood. My email is [redacted] and my name is Greg Hood. It would be greatly appreciated if I could continue from where I left off at level 3 and have only one account to prevent this confusion in the future. Thank you, Greg Hood.

Hello, I took Spanish classes in middle and high school and I was hopeful to enhance my ability to speak the language. Therefore, I turned to your impressive app. However, along the way, I encountered a small error that might go unnoticed by new Spanish learners. The question was regarding "hola, buenas tarde," where the translation provided was "evening," but many sources indicate "tarde" as "afternoon." Your app only offered "evening" as the correct response. I'm not trying to nitpick, just hoping to contribute to the further improvement of your already amazing app. The error occurred in the greetings section. Thank you for your time.

Since the recent update, I have noticed a decline in the quality of English used in some translated responses. The system seems to be limiting users to specific terms like "very fun," even when alternatives like "great fun" are also correct. It appears that the answers provided might be biased towards American English expressions. It would greatly help if there was a "skip" function available to users who encounter poorly translated answers, ensuring that progress can still be made without compromising language accuracy. This morning, I encountered a whole section that I couldn't complete due to this issue. If this language barrier persists, it may deter me from continuing with an otherwise beneficial course. Thank you for your attention to this matter. - P. Knappett

Dear Duolingo,
I am a dedicated user who has been actively utilizing your platform for over a year to learn various languages. Recently, I encountered an unexpected issue that has left me feeling disappointed and frustrated. While on a three-day vacation with uncertain internet access, I relied on the streak-freeze feature to maintain my [redacted]-day streak.
Despite successfully using the streak-freeze on the first day due to poor connectivity, I diligently purchased another streak-freeze on the second day to ensure my streak was preserved. However, to my dismay, upon returning from vacation, I discovered that my streak had reset to zero despite the streak-freeze being activated.
This situation has left me disheartened, and I sincerely hope that Duolingo can address this issue promptly and restore my hard-earned [redacted]-day streak. Your timely response and resolution would be greatly appreciated. While I eagerly await your assistance, I must express my concerns about the reliability of the platform and its impact on my continued usage.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Sincerely,
Nicolas127684

Last year, I accidentally created two separate Duolingo accounts, one on my iPad and one on my iPhone. I thought they were linked initially, but I realized they were not. Both accounts had started progress on a course, and despite my attempts to delete and log in again, the progress remained on each device. I tried looking for ways to erase data within the app and in the device settings but couldn't find a solution on iOS. I wanted to contact Duolingo for help, but now I want to start fresh with a new account linked to my Google account. I haven't been able to find a way to do this within the app. How can I create a new account that can be linked to multiple devices?

I typically don't need to log in again on my Duolingo phone app. Today, when I tried, it didn't recognize my username/password. However, I can still access my account on the webpage using the same credentials. I would appreciate assistance in resolving this issue as I don't want to lose my progress by deleting and reinstalling the app. Thank you for your help.

I am attempting to set up my profile on Duolingo with my email address [redacted] However, the system is not allowing me to proceed as it seems my email is already linked to an existing account. I am in need of assistance to resolve this issue. My name is Linda L. Dreier.
I had a previous account on Duolingo where I had selected multiple languages, but unfortunately, I have forgotten the login details. Consequently, I have created a new account starting at level one in Spanish and level one in German.
Thank you for your prompt attention and support in helping me resolve this matter.
Sincerely,

I am Geoffrey Merrill, a Spanish teacher at North Canaan Elementary School in North Canaan, CT, USA. My student accounts are linked to my name and email, [redacted] Our administrator has mandated that we establish an account with your company due to recent Federal legislation concerning student safety. To facilitate this process, I kindly request a Duolingo administrator's email to engage with our school administrator and formalize an agreement with our school system. I believe Duolingo's language program complements my classroom teaching exceptionally well. Thank you, Geoff Merrill.

1. I am nearly certain I did not break my daily streak, yet my account indicated a loss of [redacted] points.
2. The "te+infinitive" section shows as completed, but I am not receiving the necessary achievement points.
3. Due to the missing points, I had to buy more from the shop when I needed them. :(
4. There seems to be a programming issue with my Dutch learning tasks. I would appreciate having my points credited correctly. Thank you!

My Duolingo app has not been working properly. I have not been able to see my percentage of fluency for several weeks now. The appearance of my screen is different from that of my friends whom I directed to the site. Today, I got locked out of the game and couldn't practice. Despite purchasing ligots for protection, I lost all my progress. This is very frustrating as I've been diligently practicing every day for over 2 years. The lost days have caused me to be at risk of being removed from my German club. I believe there may be a glitch on your site which is unfairly charging me. I previously lost days due to a similar issue of being locked out of Duolingo. Please assist me in resolving this matter as soon as possible.

Dear Duolingo Team,
I am reaching out about the Duolingo English test. I have been attempting to take the test as I require it for my university application. I have made three attempts in the last 5 days.
During the first attempt, I finished the test but was informed that it could not be certified due to my ears not being visible. I then pulled my hair back to ensure my ears were visible.
In the second attempt, just before completing the test, I encountered an issue with downloading an image, which prevented me from finishing.
On the third try, after completing the test, I received a message stating that it could not be certified due to a security issue.
I would appreciate it if you could review the first and third attempts to verify if they cannot be certified. If not, I am willing to take the test for the fourth time, but I seek assurance that it will be certified this time.
Thank you,
Andromache

I have an idea I'd like to share. I was inspired while watching the movie Coco and found myself singing the songs all day. I realized that learning Spanish through music is more fun and effective. So, why not create a website with Spanish songs (and songs in other languages like French, German, etc.) for people to sing along to? It would be a great learning tool and also provide cultural insights. I believe music is the best way to learn!
Sincerely, Fullycrazyllama
Have a wonderful day!

I signed my son up to learn Spanish using the username Bear850 and my email address [redacted] Later, I attempted to sign up for French but couldn't use the same email [redacted] Consequently, I used a different email, [redacted], and the username Dresser2000. We both use the same Chromebook but log in with our individual accounts. Recently, when I logged in, my account showed my son's Spanish username instead. I tried seeking assistance in the forum, but it prompted me to verify my email. Although I verified the email [redacted], I am still unable to post due to it being unverified. As our accounts are mixed up, with my son learning Spanish and me learning French, I need to resolve this issue and ensure it doesn't happen again. I want to preserve my son's progress. Thank you.

Since April [redacted], I have been using Duolingo to learn French. Recently, I received a notification that I had missed a day in my streak of around [redacted] days and was given the option to maintain it by paying $13. I made the payment and completed the required lessons to continue my streak, but the same issue occurred again the next day. I paid another $13, completed the lessons, and yet received the same message yesterday. Today, after refusing to pay for a third time, my streak was reset to zero, and I was prompted to purchase more "health." I am seeking assistance to resolve this recurring problem as I enjoy the program and do not want to quit due to technical issues. Thank you for your help.

I am reaching out for assistance regarding a student who has been using Duolingo to complete language lessons. The student's progress from 11/26 to 12/14 on her phone is not showing up despite her completing lessons on her school Chromebook prior to this. Despite trying to re-join the class on the Chromebook, the scores are still not reflecting her recent progress. As a high school Spanish teacher at Wolfe County High School, I need to ensure she completed all four lessons for the first level for grading purposes. The student's mother is insisting that the lessons have been completed, but only a crown for level 1 is visible, which can be achieved by completing just one or two lessons. With grades due tomorrow at 8 am, I am concerned about resolving this issue promptly. Thank you. - Tanya Coffey

Hello,
My grandmother used to enjoy her daily Duolingo streak, which had reached over [redacted] days (approximately [redacted] days). However, after a recent medical procedure for lung cancer, she lost her streak due to being logged out of the app on her phone and not being able to remember her password. This was distressing for her as Duolingo was a source of comfort during her hospital stay. I kindly request for assistance in restoring her streak as it would mean a lot to her. Thank you for considering this request.
Regards,
- K.

Subject: Concern about Translation
Dear Duolingo Team,
I appreciate your acknowledgment of my report. I aim to be thorough with my feedback by providing details, screenshots, bug reproductions, and system descriptions. I welcome the opportunity to add any additional information by replying to this email.
Understanding that personal responses may not be feasible, I value the importance of my reports to enhance the overall experience for Duolingo users. Thank you for the chance to contribute to Duolingo’s improvement.
Sincerely,
M. Myers
Title: Concern about Racism
Regarding the German course, while translating "the boys are rich" into German, an option "die jungs sind jiddisch" was provided alongside the correct translation "die jungs sind reich." This association with "Yiddish" raises concerns of racism, particularly in a German language context.
I seek clarification on this matter, with a reconsideration of the content presented. Your prompt attention is appreciated.
Best regards,
M. Myers

Hello,
I am Jorge Robledo, with extensive experience in the BPO industry, having worked with companies like Convergys and Telefonica. I am part of a volunteer program called PAYBACK, which is a non-profit initiative in Colombia. The program aims to have bilingual students teach non-bilingual students for 2 years, helping them reach B1 level proficiency. This will enable them to work in call centers and support themselves through college. We are also supported by the Colombian Government through SENA.
We are considering using Duolingo for Schools, but have found the hours allocated may be insufficient. The current assessment suggests 17 hours for Beginners, 36 hours for Intermediate, and 34 hours for Advanced levels. Is there a way to increase the hours on the platform to achieve the B1 level we aim for? We would appreciate the opportunity to discuss this matter with your team.
Thank you,
Jorge Robledo
