On Wednesday, April 24, between 2:00 am and 3:00 am, two custodial staff members from Crunch Fitness, Rebecca and Shamyra Robinson, located at [redacted] Alps Rd, Athens, GA [redacted], left their shift and visited Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital at [redacted] Prince Ave, Athens, GA [redacted]. Shamyra attacked an employee in front of the hospital's emergency department, an incident captured on surveillance cameras. Despite reporting it to the Crunch manager, the matter seems unresolved. Following the assault, the employees returned to finish their shift at Crunch. This concerning behavior raises doubts about the safety of the work environment. I feel uneasy supporting or recommending this location to anyone. For further information, Piedmont can be reached at [redacted], asking for the security department to access the footage from the incident. Thank you for addressing this issue.

Hello, my name is Maria. I recently tried out personal training with four sessions for $[redacted] and enjoyed it. However, the following month, I was charged another $[redacted] without my consent. Despite notifying Crunch, they explained it is a monthly charge. I never provided my debit card details, nor do I have a gym membership or shared my address. The contract contains incorrect information such as listing me as male. I simply want a refund for the extra charges. It has been over two weeks, and I have not received any updates. Reaching out for assistance. Thank you.

Hello, my name is Maria. I recently tried out personal training by purchasing 4 sessions for $[redacted]. I enjoyed the sessions but was surprised to see another $[redacted] charge the following month. When I contacted Crunch, they explained it's a monthly charge and may not be refundable. I find this confusing because I only intended to try it out and didn't provide my debit card information to them. I don't have a membership there, so I'm unsure how they obtained my card details. Additionally, the contract they have contains incorrect information like my gender marked as male. I simply want a refund for the extra charges. It's been over two weeks, and I'm still waiting for a resolution, so I'm reaching out for some assistance. Thank you!

I requested my contract to be canceled in February and was assured by the manager that it was taken care of since I had relocated. However, I noticed unauthorized charges on my account. Despite multiple attempts to speak with a manager and waiting for a promised return call, I received no response. It's frustrating to see additional charges on my account when I haven't visited a Crunch Fitness branch in months. I feel my money has been taken unfairly, and I urgently require a refund and a resolution to this issue.

I reached out to my local Crunch Gym to cancel a month-to-month plan with a trainer. The customer service representative I spoke with was rude and unhelpful. When I signed up for the sessions, I was informed that I only needed to give 3-5 days notice to cancel, but the actual contract states 10 days. The signup process felt rushed, and I wasn't properly informed of the cancellation policy. Despite my payment not being due until 05-14-19, I was told it had already been processed. Unfortunately, due to unexpected costs related to our dog's emergency clinic visit, I cannot afford the training for the upcoming month. After several attempts, I obtained the manager's name and sent an email expressing my concerns but have not received a response. I also tried calling today but the call was abruptly disconnected. I informed my trainer about the situation, who was apologetic and tried to assist, but this issue needs to be resolved by the management. I am still waiting for a callback from the manager or a response to my email from yesterday.

Hello,
My name is Fiorella Milioto-Younge. I joined the Crunch location on Hamilton Mountain and signed up for personal training to aid in my recovery from previous injuries. Unfortunately, I sustained a new injury due to the exercises recommended by the trainers. I am in contact with Matt Fry at the Hamilton Mountain site to terminate the personal training agreement per my doctor's guidance and discuss reimbursement for the unused sessions. I am facing challenges as Mr. Fry is uncooperative and is now behaving inappropriately by disregarding medical letters from two physicians advising against my participation in personal training. I have provided a third medical letter to Mr. Fry outlining the situation. Despite this, he has failed to respond. I have also requested assistance from the gym manager Sandra, without success. Could you please direct me to the appropriate contact at head office to address this issue?
Thank you,
Fiorella Milioto-Younge

Hi, I had a concerning experience at Countryside Crunch with the manager. They were rude and made my daughter and me uncomfortable by enforcing a dress code regarding sports bras. Their behavior towards my daughter and the other workers was inappropriate, making us feel very uneasy. I am reaching out in the hopes of receiving a phone call or email regarding this matter. Thank you.

Hello,
I have encountered an ongoing billing discrepancy that has remained unresolved for several months. After confirming the issue in person with staff, I was advised to contact the manager by email. Despite sending the email and attempting to make phone calls, I have not received any response in the last three weeks. I would appreciate assistance in addressing this matter promptly as the current lack of communication is unacceptable.
I am based in Mississauga and have included the contents of the email below for reference:
"Hi Herminio,
Following a discussion with Marcel, I was instructed to reach out to you about my unsatisfactory experience with my son's membership at Crunch.
Concerning my son's membership under the "Base Membership" at Crunch (Hilal Habahbeh):
My son initially signed up for the "Base Membership" with the corresponding badge (attached). It appears that there was an error in the subscription management by "Eric," resulting in monthly deductions at the highest tier. Attached are the details of the deductions made:
Jan 01, [redacted] - $24.80
Jan 11, [redacted] - $56.44
Feb 01, [redacted] - $24.80
Mar 01, [redacted] - $24.80
Apr 01, [redacted] - $24.80
Could you kindly assist in correcting this error by adjusting the subscription and refunding the excess amounts paid thus far?
I would greatly appreciate your prompt attention to rectify this before the next billing cycle.
Best Regards,
Samer Habahbeh
[redacted]"
I look forward to a timely resolution.
Best regards,
Samer

I have been a member for nearly 19 years, paying over $[redacted] each month. Recently, I tried to register for a class but encountered a glitch in your system, which led to a message stating that the class was not booked. Despite booking two other classes simultaneously, I was unable to secure a spot. After contacting the 34th Street location, I was informed that the class was fully booked with no walk-ins permitted. This situation seems extremely unjust. What provisions are in place for individuals without access to computers or those facing penalties for missing classes? Are they effectively barred from popular classes? Drawing on my brother's ownership of a large gym in the Berkshires, I am familiar with gym policies. The current policy appears biased and inequitable. There should be flexibility for walk-ins, and the idea that I am unable to participate in a class due to a system error is exasperating.

I am currently traveling abroad for a couple of months. I tried to suspend my membership at the Cambridge, Ontario gym two weeks ago until I come back. They mentioned a 30-day notice, which I understand. However, despite being told it would be a quick process, I had to visit the gym in person. Upon going there, I was informed they couldn't cancel it due to a late fee. I updated my credit card information in April, but it seems it wasn't processed correctly, resulting in a late fee for May, May's monthly charge, and now June's. Today, when I inquired about the late fee removal, they were unaware of it and claimed I didn't have a credit card on file. This miscommunication and confusion are frustrating. I simply want my membership suspended until I return. Additionally, despite promises of a new gym opening nearby in November [redacted], it is still not operational as of June [redacted].

I purchased a membership at Main Street West last year, and was told I could bring a friend whenever by the person who signed me up. However, when I tried to bring a friend to the Hamilton Mountain Crunch today, I was denied and treated disrespectfully by the general manager. She even questioned the validity of my claim and threatened to contact Main Street West. This situation was embarrassing and frustrating. It is clear the staff need better training regarding membership rules. Every customer, whether on a basic or peak membership, should be treated with respect as we all pay for the service. I hope this issue can be addressed so that all customers are treated equally regardless of their background.

I recently joined Crunch Long Beach, CA after moving to South LA. I enjoy their classes compared to Planet Fitness. Due to changes in the LA Metro schedule, the bus route by the gym now only runs at midnight, making it impossible for me to access the gym with my vision issue that requires me to rely on public transportation. I tried to cancel my membership before even using it, reaching out via email to the manager without a response. After being helped to reactivate at Crunch Sunset by Herman, I was misinformed that I could cancel Long Beach easily. Upon trying to cancel, I was told I couldn't due to the timing and the Sunset location not covering Long Beach. I've attempted to transfer the membership without success and have made multiple calls and messages to cancel, but have been faced with long holds and no resolution, leaving me feeling extremely frustrated.

I have been trying to contact Crunch Gym in Richmond Hill, Queens, New York, since I joined. After injuring my back and not being able to use the gym, I called to request a refund for the trainer fee I paid but received no proper guidance on how to cancel my membership. I have only used the gym twice since joining, and despite contacting their number listed on my credit card statement, I have not been able to get assistance. I am confused as to how they continue to charge me when they cannot find my membership in their database. Recently, I was charged $49.99 without any notification. I feel frustrated and deceived by their lack of transparency regarding cancellations, leading to continuous charges. I hope to resolve this issue promptly as my credit card company advised seeking help online instead of contacting their representatives.

I am concerned about the music volume in the new Hit Zone classes. I requested the manager to lower the music because it was too loud, making it hard to hear even with headphones. The manager mentioned it was impossible to adjust as it's set by corporate. The music level was already bothersome, but hearing the trainer swearing over the microphone was completely unacceptable. The manager advised me to wait it out as the class would finish in 1 1/2 hours. These classes run consecutively from 6 p.m., right after work, making it inconvenient for everyone in the gym just for a few participants. It's challenging as this is the only time I can work out or have a session with my trainer. Most gyms typically have music in rooms with doors to contain the noise.

I joined Crunch Fitness today lured in by the supposed "great prices," only to be hit with unexpected fees. Despite only being in the area temporarily, I felt pressured into the $9.95/month annual commitment to avoid extra charges when I move. To my dismay, the annual fee turned out to cover 14 months due to prorating, even though I signed up today. The undisclosed joining fee, along with tax on the annual amount, added to my frustration. The staff's question about state tax, when I'm a lifelong resident, was off-putting. This experience contradicts the $9.95/month advertisement by Crunch Fitness. I am deeply disillusioned and disheartened by what feels like overcharging for basic health. I intend to caution others about the harsh fees and unhelpful staff at this location.

Hello, my name is Amber Washington. I wanted to share an experience I had with a team that visited my workplace to discuss a membership at Crunch. While I was intrigued, I had doubts and asked if I would be required to make any payments since I was unfamiliar with Crunch. The representative assured me that I had a 7-day window to confirm my membership, which I never did. When I called to gather more details before visiting, I was informed that my membership was already active and I would be charged for 90 days before being able to cancel. I no longer wish to have a Crunch membership as I never authorized it to begin with.

I signed up for a peak membership in May [redacted] at 21.95 per month, but was actually being charged 39.49 monthly without my knowledge. I canceled my membership in July with no obligation, only to be hit with the annual fee on July 3rd without prior notice, causing an NSF fee of 45 due to insufficient funds. On July 12th, I was charged an additional [redacted].44, which seems unjustified. Despite contacting the Brantford gym three times over two weeks, I struggled to reach the regional manager, Joe. After finally speaking to him, I have yet to receive a response since the 22nd when he promised to call back. I've left two voicemails but have not heard anything. I am frustrated by the excessive charges and the lack of communication from customer service.

I am a member of Crunch Gym in Roanoke, VA. I originally joined as Gold's Gym in [redacted], and it transitioned to Crunch a year ago. With a 10-year history at this gym, I am now 74 years old and work out there most weekdays for about an hour. Since the equipment is new and unfamiliar to me, my workouts have become repetitive. I inquired about purchasing training sessions to become more comfortable with the new equipment. The available packages require a minimum commitment of $[redacted] and a 3-month contract, which doesn't align with my needs. I am seeking assistance to acquire a one-month contract for 4.5-hour training sessions to customize my workouts effectively without the long commitment. I appreciate your prompt response to my request. Thank you. - S. Boyes

I joined Crunch Tampa Palms and canceled after 2 days, filling out a cancellation form. They are charging me $27 due to an old balance from my previous membership from [redacted] to [redacted]. I left the U.S. and informed them, but they advised me to freeze the account. I never returned and assumed it was canceled. Now, I discovered I owe $[redacted] as it was not canceled but frozen. They are insisting on charging me $27 monthly until the $[redacted] is paid. Even though I explained I was out of the country and never returned, they refused to refund the $27 and hung up on me. I possess the cancellation form.
