Columbia Gas of Ohio Customer Service Issues

After moving to a new address in Pickerington, Ohio in August [redacted], I updated my address with Columbia Gas. In October, my gas was turned off at the new address because Columbia Gas claimed I was removed from the system by the previous tenants. To make matters worse, I discovered a refund check for nearly $[redacted] was sent back to Columbia Gas instead of being delivered to me. Since October, I have been trying to get my refund, but I keep receiving different excuses every time I contact them, such as a 30-day waiting period, being directed to the wrong department, and claims that no one can speak directly with the department in charge of processing refunds. This money is crucial for me, not just a credit. I feel frustrated and want to share my experience to shed light on how Columbia Gas treats senior citizens and people with disabilities. I am currently enrolled in the PIP program, paying $10 a month due to unemployment. After submitting my recertification documents in February, I received a shut-off notice. Community Action informed me that my application is still being processed and delayed due to a high volume of requests. I am concerned about not having power for a week, especially with small children at home. I am unable to pay the entire bill but could contribute with help from my family. I am unsure of what to do next and hoping for some guidance or assistance. Thank you.
