Since May 23, [redacted], I have repeatedly found unwanted Red Plum inserts at my doorstep, despite multiple attempts to stop delivery over the past 3-1/2 years. Angie Padilla informed me on July 18th to contact her if this issue persisted, and today, August 29th at 8:45 am, I reached out to her. I've contacted various Tribune representatives to no avail. I simply want to cease the delivery of Red Plum inserts. This recurring nuisance is frustrating, as even after a brief pause, the inserts reappeared today at my address on S. Newcastle Ave. in Chicago, IL [redacted]. I am desperate for a resolution to this ongoing problem, as I do not wish to receive these unwanted inserts any longer. Please, help me put an end to this unwanted service.

I would like to share the inspiring story of an incredible disabled child who recently graduated high school. Despite being told she couldn't achieve many things, she persevered and is now in college. She competes in swimming despite having undergone brain surgery for epilepsy and needing a VNS replacement soon. Her positive attitude and determination have impressed even her doctor. I've tried contacting the local newspaper about her story without success, so if you'd like to know more, please reach out to me at [redacted] and leave a message if I'm unavailable.

I am looking to update my contact preferences to avoid early morning phone calls. Please remove the home number, [redacted], from your system and use my mobile number, 1-[redacted], after 10 am. My husband, D.E. Doty, was startled by an early call, as he is 83 years old. Additionally, I need to provide you with my new credit card details due to a recent hack. I prefer not to disclose this sensitive information to overseas representatives. Lastly, I would like the account to be under the names of D.E. Doty and myself, S. Doty, as there seems to be an issue with digital access for my husband. The current account is under the name of S. Doty and the address remains [redacted] Chicago Ave. Apt. Subject: Missing RedEye Box at Pulaski Orange Line Station
Hello!
I'm reaching out about the disappearance of the RedEye box located at the Pulaski Orange Line Station (51st & S. Pulaski Rd.). I usually stop by every Thursday to grab a few copies of the paper, but yesterday I was surprised to find the box missing. It was definitely there last week as I picked up a paper.
The area is frequented by many commuters due to its proximity to the bus and train hub, shopping centers, and a high school across the street. Considering the high foot traffic, I urge you to replace the box promptly and ensure consistent delivery to this location.
Thank you,
R.

I encountered recurring issues with wet papers a couple of years ago. Although it was seemingly resolved by ensuring delivery to the front door with plastic bags, the problem has resurfaced. Despite repeated calls to customer service reinforcing the delivery instructions on my account, today's paper was still delivered wet at the end of the driveway. After contacting them again this morning and being promised a redelivery, I am disappointed that as of 1:15 pm, the papers have not arrived, especially when the call center is now closed. I am quite frustrated with the continuously rising rates and declining service quality. Today, I expect my papers to be delivered and to negotiate a lower subscription rate as a form of compensation for this poor service. If there is no response, I will have to escalate the matter, possibly by reaching out to the BBB due to the frequency of these issues.

Our newspaper delivery has been extremely unreliable lately. We constantly find it on the road or in our neighbor's yard, and sometimes it doesn't even show up at all. Despite contacting customer service multiple times about the issue, there has been no improvement. Promises of a fix or a later delivery never come to fruition, leading us to consider canceling our long-standing subscription. It's frustrating to pay for a service that consistently falls short, and the lack of follow-through from customer service is disappointing. The records will show our frustration - Anton Roth at [redacted] Illinois Avenue, Ottawa, IL [redacted]. After years of being loyal subscribers, we have reached our breaking point. Bogus

For 35 years, my spouse and I have been loyal subscribers. However, over the past 7 years, we have noticed a significant increase in our bills. The annual date has been consistently moved up, attributing the rise to premium features and digital news that we do not use or need. As retired seniors, we are simply looking for a fair annual rate. Unfortunately, when I raised this concern with a sales representative, there was a lack of empathy or understanding, leading us to cancel our subscription. It is disheartening after having a positive relationship with and backing the Chicago Tribune for so many years.

I read the breaking news item today regarding the burial of a Korean War soldier from Illinois next to his twin brother who also died in the same battle.
The Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency stated that out of the 8,[redacted] Korean War personnel missing in action, only [redacted] have been identified. It is indeed confusing to mention identified individuals as missing in action. The clarification on the total number of still missing individuals would be helpful.
After World War II, there were close to [redacted],[redacted] men missing in action, and now the number has decreased to around 87,[redacted]. The agency mentioned is actively searching for missing individuals from various wars.
It is likely that the twin brothers served in the same unit, as brothers were generally not placed together in units by the Department of the Army to avoid such tragic circumstances. National Guard units at that time often had family members serving together. More information on the unit of these soldiers could have strengthened the connection of the story to Illinois.

As seniors in our mid-80s, we have been dedicated subscribers of the Chicago Tribune for many years, even transporting our subscription between Illinois and Florida. However, recently, the delivery service to our new residence in North Aurora, Illinois has been inconsistent. On two occasions this week, our paper did not arrive. We kindly requested that it be thrown closer to our garage door, as it currently lands near the front sidewalk. Given our age and limitations, we are hopeful to receive more reliable service. We truly value our subscription and hope to continue, but if this issue persists, we may have to reconsider. Any assistance in improving our delivery would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Recently, I have experienced ongoing issues with the delivery of my Sunday paper. It arrived without proper bagging, rendering it too wet to read. Despite multiple calls to customer service, promised replacements did not arrive as scheduled. This problem began around April this year after years of excellent service. Numerous Sundays have passed without receiving a paper, and some were even delivered into wet gutters. While I appreciate the credited amounts, I simply wish to receive the paper regularly. Interestingly, my neighbor has been receiving the Sunday Tribune without being a subscriber. This situation is causing me unnecessary stress and wasted time. I am considering canceling my subscription if these problems persist. Please address these issues promptly. If needed, contact me at [redacted].

In response to Rex Huppke's call to manage deer population:
Dear Rex Huppke,
I doubt you'll care about my opinion, but I must say, your suggestion to cull deer is alarming. Encouraging people with guns to start killing these animals adds unnecessary harm to our planet's wildlife preservation efforts. Connecting deer to an apocalypse because of internet videos is nonsensical. Your article is illogical and fear-inducing. It's disappointing. We live in an age where there are real issues to address; stirring up baseless panic is counterproductive. Your approach is distasteful, akin to addressing a comedic movie for advocating absurdity. Your message advocating deer slaughter is appalling. Regrettably, I will refrain from reading further articles from this publication and will share my sentiment with others. -Dawn Morris from Souderton, PA

On December 20, [redacted], an unauthorized charge appeared on my credit card statement for a subscription service. I promptly reached out to Chicago Tribune's consumer services regarding this issue. Initially, Jenny Lyn Oppad handled my concerns, but Jennifer Dalayon later informed me that the matter had been escalated to the Billing Department on December 27, [redacted]. After not receiving any further updates, I sent a follow-up email on January 21, [redacted].
The next day, I received a response stating that they are sorry for the delay and are escalating the issue to the billing department. They assured me that they would contact me once they have a resolution. If I need further assistance, I can reach out to their customer service center or reply to the email provided.
Despite the small amount involved, it has been over a month, and the handling of an unauthorized transaction in this way is unacceptable, particularly given that I am located in South Africa.

I visit multiple stores in the Hickory Hills area each morning to purchase the daily paper. Lately, it has been challenging as I have had to visit up to 6 stores just to find a copy. Yesterday at Speedway on 88th Avenue and 95th Street, I arrived at 7:20 a.m. and managed to get the last paper. This morning, by 7:30 a.m., only two were left with an abundance of SunTimes papers available. I wonder if there is a shortage of papers intentionally to suggest a lack of demand. Ideally, each store should have at least one paper remaining by the end of the day to gauge potential sales. I even had to journey to Orland Park earlier this week to locate a store carrying the Tribune. While I enjoy this paper, a subscription isn't feasible due to my frequent travels. It is frustrating to face these challenges in obtaining a daily paper.

Subject: Unfortunate Experience Forwarding Yesterday's Article
Dear Sir/Madam,
I recently attempted to forward the article "In the Red Spotlight" to individuals residing out of town who I believed would find it interesting. Prior to sending it, I decided to email it to myself to preview its appearance.
Unfortunately, to my dismay, the article was overwhelmed with numerous ads scattered all over the page, making it difficult to locate the actual content and images. The layout was chaotic and disorganized.
Regrettably, due to this unsatisfactory presentation, I chose not to share the article as planned.
I am a dedicated subscriber of many decades and felt compelled to address this issue. In this day and age, I expected a more polished and user-friendly format for sharing articles.
Kindly consider forwarding this feedback to the relevant department for improvement. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Sincerely,
E.K.

Dear Sir/Madam,
I represent a significant Senior care facility located at [redacted] Grant Street and One Calvin Circle, accommodating over a hundred residents who rely on newspaper deliveries.
Regrettably, our residents have been facing issues for more than a week due to the carrier leaving paper bundles at the door instead of delivering them directly to the residents’ rooms. This has caused complaints about delayed, missing, or incomplete deliveries.
Despite repeated calls and notes left for the delivery person by both staff members and myself, the problem persists. The ongoing poor customer service is unacceptable.
As a reference, our campus comprises multiple buildings, including 1 Arbor Lane, 2 Arbor Lane, One Calvin Circle, and The Highlands, under route number V60201C1-[redacted].
It is crucial that the newspapers be delivered directly to the residents' rooms without further delay. Thank you for addressing this matter promptly.
Warm regards,
[Initials]

I have been experiencing ongoing issues with the delivery of my newspapers. Despite numerous complaints, the papers continue to be dropped at the end of my driveway or in the street, resulting in damaged newspapers from rain or ripping. I have repeatedly been assured that the problem would be addressed and that the paper would be delivered to my front door, but this has not been the case. I have even requested a credit to my account for each incorrect delivery. I have yet to receive a phone call from anyone at the paper as was promised. Due to the lack of resolution over the phone, I am now attempting to address the matter via email. I am a loyal subscriber and I simply want my paper delivered correctly to my front door. I am seeking a credit for the ongoing delivery issues and would like to discuss this matter further with the distributor.

Dear Chicago Tribune, I have been a loyal subscriber for many years and truly appreciate the content provided by writers like Rex. The recent removal of the TV Guide section has left me and other elderly readers without a key resource we relied on. While I respect your decisions as a business, I believe eliminating the TV Guide is a significant misstep. I urge you to evaluate the impact on subscribers and consider the potential loss of customers due to this change. My family and I are even contemplating canceling our subscription as a result. Wishing you a Happy New Year! Sincerely, Ken Tobias from Downers Grove.

We recently renewed our subscription to the Tribune for another year, not realizing that the daily TV schedule would be discontinued. We do not have cable TV and only watch the free programs. Therefore, we do not find your special TV weekly useful. It is overwhelming, and we don't want to spend an additional $52.00 for program lookups we won't use. We wouldn't have renewed our subscription without the daily short guide. We are disappointed in this change.
Two unhappy readers,
E. and H. Walter
