I'm Gabriel Benavides. I recently worked in Oregon due to attending school there. My last workday in Oregon was March 16, [redacted]. Despite applying for Unemployment in Oregon, I was directed to apply in California since my permanent address is there. However, I faced challenges with the online application and had to resort to faxing the application on April 22, [redacted]. The expectation was to receive a response within 10 days, but it has now been 2 weeks with no letter received. It has been nearly 2 months without any income. I urgently require assistance.

I am wondering if this forum is officially affiliated with the EDD. I am concerned about potential fraud. As a Sole Proprietor, I initially faced issues with the system not recognizing me. Despite the website advising against mailing applications, I did so because I couldn't find a printable format. I sent crucial documents like my SS, DL, proof of citizenship, 2[redacted]s, and details of my work projections for the first quarter of [redacted]. However, upon trying to complete the process online, it states that an application already exists and prompts me to re-register, requiring an EDD number I don't possess. When calling, I often encounter system outages. With financial stress mounting from pending expenses, lack of work, and dwindling savings, I am seeking assistance. Can someone guide me through this situation? Also, how can I verify the authenticity of www.6ya.com?

To whom it may concern,
I am Minh Vu and I have a question that I hope you can help with. I applied for EDD benefits on March 17, [redacted]. However, I have not received any benefits for the period from March 17, [redacted], to April 18, [redacted]. The letter I received from EDD stated that all 6 weeks of my certification were disqualified, except for one week on April 25, [redacted], where I received $[redacted].
I am confused as to why all 6 weeks I certified for were disqualified, and I am unsure if I made an error in selecting those weeks. Could you please guide me on how to re-apply for those 6 weeks and help me receive the benefits I need during these difficult times of the Coronavirus outbreak in our city?
Your assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.
Sincerely,
Minh Vu

On March 13, [redacted], I received a notification that my claim funds have been exhausted. Even though my claim year extends until October [redacted], I was not required to file every two weeks. I went through the CTP application process, had a phone interview, but due to the pandemic, the enrollment got postponed and I never received any decision letter.
With the CARES Act extending unemployment benefits and adding extra funds, I was affected because two potential job opportunities have been put on hold. Given the circumstances, I believe I qualify for the $[redacted] weekly relief, but I am unsure if I need to file a new claim specifically for the pandemic relief. Your website mentioned that EDD would handle these claims automatically.
I am in urgent need of financial assistance and I am hoping for retroactive payments from when my claim ran out. I possess the EDD card and I am counting on access to the CARES Act funds. Please advise if I need to take any further actions to ensure the continuity of my funding.

I submitted a claim on March 20, [redacted], and EDD has sent me a letter detailing my benefit amount. I possess a Bank of America card, but I'm yet to receive any payments. Whenever I call, the line is busy, and the call disconnects. The automated system also does not offer assistance after listening and pressing through prompts. I'm in need and seeking help with receiving my overdue benefits.

I submitted my unemployment claim on 4/5 through the online portal. After receiving the paperwork by mail, I noticed that my Unemployment Insurance award indicates "$0" for maximum benefits and quarterly wages, even though I provided all my employment details during the application process. It seems there might have been some errors when I filled out certain sections such as the separation category and explanation as well as the question about returning to a former employer. How could this have impacted my benefits? Additionally, my notice does not list my employer's name or quarterly earnings despite me entering the information initially. I am currently furloughed from my current job, having worked for my former employer for over 33 years. Can someone please assist me with this issue?

I submitted my UI application online on 4/5 and have received my paperwork in the mail. However, my Unemployment Insurance award indicates "$0" for both the award amount and quarterly wages. I suspect this might be due to some incorrect entries I made during the online application process:
1) Instead of selecting "decreased hours" for the Separation Category, I mistakenly chose "laid off/no work."
2) I entered "Related to the coronavirus (Covid-19)" under Separation Explanation.
3) I answered "No" to returning to a former employer when I should have selected "Yes."
4) Oddly, my Notice of Unemployment Insurance award shows "40" for various fields without listing my Employer's name or quarterly earnings, despite me providing this information initially.
I'm puzzled by these discrepancies and would appreciate any guidance on how to rectify this situation. Thank you.

I submitted my UI claim on March 22, [redacted], but only received forms to fill out on April 8, [redacted], which were dated for April 4, [redacted]. Despite promptly returning the forms, I didn't hear back for nearly three weeks. Unable to reach anyone by phone or online, I reopened my claim on April 19, [redacted], as I hadn't received any payments by then. Upon submitting the forms online, I was disheartened to see messages stating disqualification and overpayment dating back to [redacted]. Although I received two payments, one for $[redacted].00 and another for $[redacted].00, my initial claim stated my weekly benefit should be $[redacted].00. This inconsistency is causing me distress as I face the risk of losing my home due to lack of income. I urgently need to speak with a representative from the EDD.

I applied for unemployment back in February and initially was approved for $[redacted] per week. However, shortly after, I received a letter stating I didn't qualify. I was advised to contact EDD for an appeal or with any queries. Despite numerous attempts, I couldn't reach anyone by phone, and even my emailed attempts didn't get any response. I eventually sent the appeal form by mail, albeit past the 30-day deadline, as I felt helpless with no alternative. Knowing I can't file a new claim for a year, I feel stuck. Meanwhile, acquaintances in my area have already received benefits. Due to the impact of Covid-19, finding employment has been a struggle, and my savings are running low. I desperately need EDD assistance, or at least the chance to re-open my claim, to support my wife and me through this tough period. Thank you.

I live in Maryland and recently applied for unemployment and covid gig worker relief in California through EDD. I received a letter requesting identity verification, but I've already received an EDD debit card with benefits. Does this mean my identity has been verified or do I still need to send the requested documents?

I submitted my application via fax following EDD instructions on 4.04.20 due to working out of state in the previous 18 months. While I got confirmation from the fax machine, I have yet to receive anything from EDD with my Customer Account number. As a result, I cannot access my claim information on UI Online. Despite trying to contact them, I have not been successful in reaching anyone. I have even attempted various phone numbers without success, including 1-[redacted], 1-[redacted], and 1-[redacted].
I am unsure of the best course of action at this point. Should I resend my application via fax or mail, or would that cause further confusion? If I do need to reapply, how can I guarantee that my benefits cover the period I have been waiting for since my initial application in April?
Update: I eventually spoke to someone on the [redacted] line who suggested that my application may have been overlooked. They offered to assist with a new claim over the phone and backdate it to my original application date. Unfortunately, her computer crashed while we were almost done, causing the loss of all the information. She mentioned calling me back, so I am waiting for that call.

My unemployment benefits expired on April 18, and I have been jobless since last October. I am wondering if I will be eligible for the additional 13 weeks of benefits and if any action is required on my part to receive the federal benefits. The EDD has mentioned that they will provide instructions through USPS, but it has been a month since my last payment, and my bills are piling up. By my calculations, I should be receiving $[redacted] plus an additional $[redacted] per week from the federal funds. So far, I believe I am owed around $4,[redacted], considering my last payment on April 18 was $[redacted] for a two-week period, with an additional $1,[redacted] from the federal funds.

I was approved for benefits at the end of March [redacted] but I have not received anything yet. When I check my UI online account, it shows my weekly benefits amount, LAST PAYMENT ISSUED, current balance, benefit year, work search requirements, and the status of my week 1 and week 2 certifications. Unfortunately, both certification weeks show that I was disqualified. I have been attempting to call EDD without success to clarify and resolve this issue with my account. My claim history indicates that I was disqualified, but I don't understand why. It is now May 15, [redacted], and I applied in early March, received my award letter in early April, and shortly after saw the disqualification in my claim history without any explanation.

I am wondering if it is allowed for me to use my home address for friends applying for Unemployment benefits, specifically Pandemic Unemployment Assistance? I have been assisting friends who are transient and sometimes stay at my residence. My mother and I are the only permanent residents at the house. They need a stable address to receive important documents for their claims, such as their EDD Debit Card. I am currently receiving Pandemic Unemployment Assistance for myself as a self-employed individual. My friends may also be receiving other benefits like Disability, Social Security, GR, or SNAP. I am curious if it is legally permissible for them to use my address for their UI/PUA claims and tax filings without causing any issues for me or affecting their benefits.

For the past three months, I've been trying to reach a single agent with no success. I've tried faxing, messaging online, emailing, calling EDD phone numbers endlessly, and mailing documents. I was furloughed by my company in March due to COVID-19. My case is unique because I couldn't apply for unemployment insurance after my previous contract ended in May [redacted]. I did qualify and receive unemployment insurance until November [redacted]. However, being within the 52-week period, I couldn't file a new claim until May 3, [redacted]. It's been three weeks since I filed for unemployment online, and I haven't received any updates on my claim. I'm eager to know when I'll receive my unemployment insurance and the $[redacted] weekly funds due to COVID-19.

I applied for unemployment almost a year ago and was denied. I have been working as a [redacted] employee for most of that time with one company. Due to being laid off because of the coronavirus, I have re-applied for unemployment three times - under regular UI benefits and PUA benefits - but have not received any response. I was initially disqualified and given zero dollars, which should have automatically qualified me for PUA benefits. I have a newborn baby born in December, and I am the sole provider, but I have been unemployed since March with no way to contact anyone for assistance. I am in desperate need of help.

Today's date is 5/19/20. I have questions regarding my application status for EDD benefits. I filed for UI on 4/30/20 but have not received my account number or payments yet. I submitted all required paperwork and created a BOP account online but couldn't register with UI online. When I try calling, the phone lines are busy. Additionally, I am unsure about the "certified" amount requested on the UI automated system for listing the SS# as I receive payments electronically. Thank you for your help.

As an independent contractor specializing in freelance design and rendering services for many years, I have experienced a complete halt in my work and income due to the shelter-in-place orders starting in February. This unexpected situation has led me to consider applying for unemployment benefits for the first time. I am unsure about the eligibility criteria and the application process, but I believe this assistance could support my wife and me during this challenging period. Any guidance or information on how to navigate this would be greatly appreciated. Please contact me at [redacted] or via email at [redacted].
Best regards,

I initiated a claim on 8/25/[redacted]. I only received benefits for a few weeks due to my WBA of $[redacted].00, as my weekly earnings exceeded that amount. To date, I have been paid $[redacted].00 and still have $3,[redacted].00 left in my claim.
I was informed of an overpayment of $[redacted].00, the exact sum CA EDD disbursed to me. I am puzzled by this request for repayment, especially with a substantial balance remaining in my claim.
Workforce Solutions in Glendale, CA, explained that if my earnings surpassed my WBA due to a regular job, certifying for benefits those weeks would be unnecessary. However, my claim is now frozen due to a backlog.
Although I now reside in Texas, I was instructed to certify in California for unemployment benefits related to COVID-19, as my W-2 earnings for Jan. [redacted]-Dec. [redacted] were in California. Despite attempting to certify for benefits and PUA funds, the CA EDD site does not permit me to proceed.
I spoke to a representative two weeks ago, who redirected me to another department, promising a response within 3-4 days. It has been over two weeks with no follow-up.
I urgently request the reactivation of my active yet frozen claim to access the COVID-19/Pandemic funds owed to me. Despite numerous attempts, I have been unable to reach CA EDD via telephone, resulting in more confusion than clarity.

I am seeking assistance with my Unemployment Claim. I submitted my claim on April 17, [redacted], and received Reference # 28-[redacted]-[redacted]. However, after 5 weeks, I am unable to track the status of my claim as the system does not recognize this reference number. I attempted to re-open my claim, but the website requests an EDD #, which I do not have. I was provided with another reference number: [redacted]-[redacted]-14, but it also does not seem to be the EDD #. As it has been 5 weeks since my last working day on March 30, [redacted], I am concerned and in need of assistance to understand the status of my claim. Thank you for your help.
