I applied for unemployment and received notices about my award amount and claim forms. However, I have not received any payments yet. Upon reviewing the first claim form, it mentioned a disqualification that occurred last year. I was unemployed from 11/[redacted]-4/[redacted], which exceeded the 5-week disqualification period on my last claim. Additionally, the disqualification letter stated I could reapply for benefits after working a bonafide job for more than 2.5 months. I have been employed from 4/[redacted]-11/[redacted], totaling seven months of employment. Despite this, I am still facing disqualification without a clear reason. This situation is urgent as my father recently passed away, and we are struggling financially to cover the burial expenses. Your prompt assistance is greatly appreciated.

I had a phone interview with EDD after filing a claim in December [redacted]. They questioned if I was fired, but I explained I was laid off due to downsizing with a pay off promised. Unfortunately, the EDD rep seemed convinced of disqualifying me, resulting in a letter of disqualification with added penalties, requiring a minimum 2.5 months of work to reapply. I started a new job with Spectrum in April [redacted] and have been there for over 7 months. Recently, I was suspended without pay, prompting me to reapply for unemployment. However, after 2 months, I am struggling to reach EDD for assistance. The automated announcements on the EDD [redacted] number exacerbate my frustration, especially regarding COVID-related benefits. It's disheartening to be in this situation after consistently working since the age of 14, paying taxes that contribute to unemployment insurance.

Hello, I am having an issue with my EDD claim. My regular claim has expired, and the extension was automatically applied. However, when I attempted to certify, my account prompted me to 'reopen my claim'. I am unsure why this is necessary, given that it has only been 2 weeks since my last certification. During the certification process, I indicated that I am available for full-time work, yet I was later asked to explain why I am not available for full-time work. It seems there may be a discrepancy or glitch in the system. I would like to connect with a representative to clarify the situation and ensure that my claim is processed correctly. Thank you for your assistance. Best regards, Ava C.

Hello, my name is Silvia A Caballero. I am reaching out for assistance with my unemployment claim form. I have submitted all my claims from July 19, [redacted], to December 5, [redacted]. The agent assured me that the December 6th claim would be sent to me to restart my unemployment benefits; however, it has been over two weeks, and I have not received anything in the mail. Although the agent mentioned fixing it online, every time I check, it reverts back to July 19, [redacted]. I have been trying to call every day without success. I urgently need the updated forms as my rent payment is approaching. If possible, could you please send me the December 5th form or guide me on updating it online. Your help with this critical matter would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your assistance. Stay safe, Silvia A Caballero.

I received PUA benefits, but my certification expired on 12/31/[redacted]. I noticed changes in the legislation regarding certification dates on my homepage. Initially, it stated that I wouldn't have weeks to certify after the 37th, and that I would be notified when it was time to certify for my PUA. Then, it reverted to showing "maximum benefits paid" as before, but my Certification Date changed to 4/10/[redacted]. I attempted to file a new claim on the 28th and 29th, but couldn't proceed since I already had an active PUA claim. The system mentioned that I would be notified for extended benefits certification. I tried contacting support but got disconnected twice after waiting for hours. For the past seven days, I've been receiving messages saying they can't attend to all calls. I'm unsure if this is only affecting my claim or if others are experiencing the same issue with their benefits page.

I am currently locked out of my EDD UI online account due to misplacing my password when my phone broke. This occurred in January, and since then, I have been unable to contact live assistance via phone. Before being locked out, I was prompted to do an identity verification, which I am unsure of the reason for, as I had previously verified my identity with UI in July of last year through fax and mail. The situation has caused me stress, especially as I await my CDL after replacing the original. While managing my account has been challenging, I have not detected any fraudulent activity thus far. If there are any discrepancies, I would appreciate being informed and having them resolved. Thank you for any assistance you can provide.

When attempting to certify on my UI Online account, a message indicates that certain claimants are unable to certify at this time. The specific programs mentioned are the Notice of Reduced Earnings (DE [redacted]), Notice of Reduced Earnings for Fisherperson (DE 2063F), Pacific Maritime Association Partial Evidence of Payment Form (PMA [redacted]), Payment Certification for Work Sharing (DE 4581WS), and Initial Claim and Payment Certification for Work Sharing Employer (DE 4511WS). I received a notification in my inbox stating that my claim expired on 12/31/20 and advised me to file a new claim if I haven't already. Despite having a remaining benefit balance on my existing claim, I am unsure whether to file a new claim. On checking my UI account, the new expectation date has been extended to 4/10/21. Should I proceed with filing a new claim or wait as per the updated date?

I have been trying for months to reach a live person at EDD without success using the contact numbers provided. It is frustrating and seems impossible to speak with someone for much-needed assistance. Please provide accurate and effective ways to get through to EDD or any other tried-and-true methods to help resolve this urgent issue that is impacting my family and causing us to face losing our home. I need reliable information to address this situation promptly.

I was furloughed from my job on March 14, [redacted]. My employer continued to pay wages through May 9th. I applied for UI benefits on June 7th and was approved. For 26 weeks, I received UI deposits on my EDD Bank of America card. On January 5th, I received my last UI payment covering through January 2nd. I saw a message saying I can't file a new claim until my benefit year ends on June 5th. Yet, I haven't heard about an extension. I believe it should be automatic if the benefit year hasn't ended. Since I am deaf, calling EDD is not an option, and they don't have an email for inquiries. How can I check my extension status? Thank you for any guidance. J. Carvale

I have been attempting to reach an agent for over three weeks now. I have certified for several weeks and sent various messages, some expressing frustration due to the difficulty of getting in touch with someone. I was informed that my claim was temporarily suspended and that I needed to sign and return a document to Iowa, which I did over three weeks ago. Despite this, my certifications are still pending, and my bills are accumulating late fees. My rent is over four months past due, and the delay in processing my claim is causing significant financial strain. I believe that verifying my address should be a simple task since I have had an existing claim since [redacted]. I am baffled as to why my claim review is taking so long, especially when my work history and address information have not changed for over 30 years. This delay is extremely frustrating, and it feels like a game is being played at my expense. I hope this situation can be resolved promptly so that I can receive the payments owed to me without further delay.

For the past three weeks, I've been trying to reach EDD by phone without success. I returned a signed document they sent me over three weeks ago. Despite certifying for multiple weeks, all my certifications are still pending due to them temporarily suspending my claim for review. I find it unreasonable for them to take over a month to review a claim. I feel they are playing games with my livelihood, and I'm becoming increasingly frustrated. It should be evident whether someone is legitimate or a fraud, especially when one provides work history that has been verified with a previous employer. What could be the issue?

Hello, I am Doris Y. Domen. I am reaching out regarding my Unemployment Claim. Unfortunately, I did not receive my payments for January [redacted], so I visited the EDD website. The Certify tab directed me to “Reopen My Claim”. Therefore, I completed the online form on 1/20/21 and received notifications confirming that my request was received. It stated, “You have reopened your Unemployment insurance claim. Your next certification date will be displayed on your Home screen when available.” However, upon checking again on 1/26/21, I only saw the Certification message. I am seeking confirmation that my claim reopening information was successfully received. In case needed, I can provide a screenshot of the confirmation. Thank you for your assistance. Have a pleasant day!

I've been struggling with my unemployment claim since October and it's now almost February. I corrected my address with them, yet I haven't received any documentation, whether it's a denial, approval, or any correspondence. Despite earning over 150k a year, they claimed I didn't make enough and got my employer's details wrong. I'm at my wit's end, having depleted my resources and strained relationships. Contacting them by phone or receiving any paperwork seems impossible for me. -A. Moore [redacted] [redacted]

I am Michael G. Lange residing at [redacted] Western Ave Apt 10, Buena Park, CA [redacted]. I have made multiple attempts to address an ongoing issue with my Unemployment Insurance (UI) payments but have not received any response from your end. In December, I submitted the last form I had to continue receiving my UI payments. Since then, I have not received any further communication or payments, including the additional $[redacted] weekly benefit I was entitled to. Today, upon checking my debit card account once more, I found no deposits made. This situation has caused financial hardship for me. I kindly request urgent attention to rectify this issue and ensure that all outstanding payments owed to me are credited to my debit card. I look forward to your prompt response and resolution. Thank you.

I recently completed my ID Verification through the new ID.me system on Sunday, 1/31/21. My identification has been confirmed, and I was informed that I would receive a letter from California EDD within 7 to 10 days outlining the next steps to restart my unemployment claim and receive my benefits. I have been submitting my certifications as instructed, but my balances on UI Online are decreasing. I am eager to know when I can expect to start receiving my benefits and if I will still receive the additional $[redacted] in stimulus funds. I did not receive any benefits for January. Will I receive backdated benefits for the period delayed by the ID.me verification process? I am waiting for my account to be unlocked and my benefits to be reinstated. Thank you for your assistance.

I've been attempting to reach a live agent since October to address my case and payment concerns. After waiting since October to certify for benefits, I could finally do so in January. It has been over three weeks, and I'm wondering what's causing the delay. My customer account number is [redacted]. I have been experiencing identity theft issues with my PayPal account missing hundreds of dollars due to fraud. In October, while trying to create an EDD account, I faced verification challenges. After losing access to the old email for that claim, I submitted a new claim with my current email address, [redacted] I successfully verified through ID.me and certified for benefits in January. However, I've been unable to verify for October, November, and December. I am puzzled about why my certification for those months is still pending. I've determined my weekly benefit amount is $[redacted], but I initially received statements with incorrect high numbers. My fiance's claim displays similar high numbers. I am eager to resolve these issues and can be reached at [redacted] or [redacted]. Thank you, Eric Carrillo.

I am reaching out regarding my frozen debit card issue with account #[redacted]. On 1/15/21, funds were stolen from my account, and although Bank of America (BOA) issued me a new card, I couldn't activate it as the card was frozen by the Employment Development Department (EDD). After contacting EDD and sending an email on 1/26, I was informed they are aware of the problem and will resolve it within 10 days. Despite EDD asking me to check my inbox for form DE [redacted] on 1/27, no such form was found, only a notification of my payment being suspended. On 1/30, a letter was mistakenly sent to the wrong address, and upon receiving the form DE1326C for identity verification, I promptly completed and mailed it back on 2/1 via express mail. However, I have yet to receive any updates from EDD. Due to not receiving any funds for living expenses since 12/14/20, especially after a recent major surgery, I am in urgent need of assistance. A letter from BOA on 1/26 also indicated fraudulent activity on the claim. Your support in resolving this matter promptly would be greatly appreciated.

I would like to address the issue with my frozen debit card. My account number is ***********. On [date], funds were stolen from my account. B.O.A. issued a new card, but I encountered issues when trying to activate it. B.O.A. recommended contacting E.D.D. as the card was frozen by them. I reached out to ASKEDD through email, and they acknowledged the problem, promising to resolve it within ** days. They mentioned a form DE **** to check for in my inbox. Despite multiple checks, I have not found this form, only a message stating my payment is suspended. A letter was sent to the wrong address, causing delays even though my profile information is up to date. The letter included a form DE****C for identity verification, which I signed and sent to E.D.D. via express mail on [date]. However, I have yet to receive any updates from E.D.D., and I have not received funds for living expenses since [date], impacting me significantly after a recent surgery. Adding to the complications, I received a fraud claim letter from B.O.A. on [date]. I kindly request your assistance in resolving this matter promptly.

Hello, my name is CL Adams. My EDD claim expired in January [redacted]. Since the pandemic began in February [redacted], I have been struggling to reach EDD by phone to file for UI assistance. Without a working phone, I am facing challenges every day, trying to avoid homelessness. I am requesting assistance with filing a UI claim and need access to the required forms for UI/PUA/PUE claims and identification. I worked for IHSS from [redacted] to [redacted] and later tried to file for hours worked in October [redacted] for Mr. Fred and Mrs. Kimberly Collesure. I am currently in Yucca Valley, California. I had an open claim that began on 4/26/[redacted]. I started a job the week of Thanksgiving in [redacted] and worked until 12/23/[redacted], reporting my earnings accurately. Since 12/23/[redacted], I've been trying to reopen my claim without success. Each Sunday, the button to reopen appears again after I've tried. Although I've been told EDD would reopen it automatically, it hasn't happened yet. I am ready and looking for work every week but haven't had any luck. I've been advised that contacting EDD could help in getting my claim reopened. I'm requesting EDD to assist me in reopening my claim with the California Employment Development Department.
