I need assistance with configuring my client. When I enter my "Screen name:", "Password:", "Server:", and "Port:" in the prompt window, they work on AOL.com but not on the new machine with Fedora 22 and Empathy. In Fedora 22, the "online accounts" setting should support various chat clients by entering the same details. Thank you.

I am having trouble accessing my account. When I attempt to access my email, it indicates that my account is cancelled. However, I am still able to update my account details, such as my password and phone number. When I called customer service, the representative on the line spoke a different language, pretended not to hear me, and disconnected the call. Despite speaking loudly to confirm they could hear me, the interaction was unproductive. I just finished a successful call with a friend, so I know my phone is working fine. I am simply requesting for my account to be reactivated, but it seems challenging to accomplish this or to reach a competent customer service agent. Is there an alternative method to regain access to my account or to connect with a representative who speaks English?

I keep getting prompted for my AOL password on my iMac, even though I can access my email without any issues using the correct password. The box in the upper right corner won't go away, and when I try to enter the password, it keeps rejecting it. It's specifically for Apple Mail, but I am certain my password is correct since I can log in to my email account without any trouble.

I am having trouble accessing my AOL mailbox on Windows 7 Internet Explorer. When I try to open it, I get redirected to oidc.mail.aol.com and receive an error message, Error [redacted]. This issue doesn't occur when I access it on Windows 8.1 IE or Google Chrome on both computers. I've attempted to resolve it by clearing the cache and browsing history, but the problem persists. Additionally, when trying to access it on my iPhone using the AOL mailbox app, I keep getting prompted to log in and can only view emails up until March [redacted]. This problem started on May 19th while I was deleting emails. I can still access it on my Samsung S4 Galaxy. If anyone needs to contact me, please use my Google email until this issue is resolved.

I have been experiencing difficulty logging into my email account as I kept getting an incorrect password message. After attempting to reset my password, I discovered that the phone number associated with my account is outdated and I was unable to change it. Subsequently, I contacted customer service for assistance with x and endured a 2-hour wait only to be informed that my email address had been inactive for over 4 years and disabled, which is not accurate since I check my emails daily. I urgently need this matter to be resolved promptly. I am uncertain how AOL will communicate with me given their claims that my email address, [redacted], is nonexistent. You may contact me at [redacted].

I tried to send something to myself and got a message from a mailer daemon saying I didn't have an AOL account, which I've had for over 20 years. I checked my deleted emails, agreed to the terms of service, downloaded the AOL app on my phone, and tried sending the email again, but the mailer daemon message came back. I've been a satisfied user for decades, but this issue is really frustrating me. Can someone assist me with this problem, please?

I'm facing issues with my emails; they are not sending properly and are arriving in the wrong order. I contacted Apple, and they partially resolved the problem but advised me to reach out to you. I've been a long-time customer and feeling frustrated about this situation. The imap.aol.com server is not responding, although the passwords are correct. Could you please assist me in resolving this issue? Since Yahoo's takeover, there have been suggestions that the company might be phasing out clients. I hope this isn't true. Your help is much appreciated.

Tonight, when I started my computer, a black screen popped up with a message saying my disk needs to be checked for consistency. It kept coming up, and I noticed unexpected charges. I recently got a trial of System Mechanic; I'm concerned it caused this virus. How can I remove it? Appreciate any assistance!

Dear Sir or Madam, I have been an AOL customer for nearly 20 years and am dedicated to the service. Recently, I've encountered two persistent issues that have been causing inconvenience. Firstly, when attaching files to new emails over the past few months, an error message often appears advising to try uploading the files later, resulting in the draft not being saved. Occasionally, I can save the email after waiting, but sometimes I have to rewrite it and save after attaching each file to prevent encountering the problem message. Secondly, searching for emails has become cumbersome for the past two months. While the search feature used to be precise, now it fails to display numerous emails based on the address or subject keywords. These emails are present but are not all shown in the search results, requiring me to manually go through old and new emails one by one. I'm curious to know what may have caused this sudden change in the search functionality. Sincerely, Ron Rover

I have had a challenging experience with my phone calls lately, but thanks to AOL, they managed to recover some important emails that I hadn't deleted. I am grateful for their help in restoring these sensitive emails. Despite being told by one representative that I couldn't use a VOIP line to retrieve my temporary password, another representative today informed me that I could. This conflicting information is frustrating, especially since my phone company mentioned I have copper wire but mentioned a switch to fiber. Additionally, the [redacted] line in my city doesn't recognize my line as a landline and provides a 7-digit number to call. I am willing to receive the access code to change my password via email. Any insight or assistance with this issue would be greatly appreciated. - JG

I have been a loyal AOL customer for many years, paying $39.99 monthly for what used to be satisfactory service. Recently, I noticed a significant change in the formatting of my emails. The font size became smaller, there were no spaces between lines in incoming messages, and the "stationery" option with various images was removed without my consent. As an elderly individual with poor eyesight, this new format is extremely difficult for me to read. I valued the previous features which influenced my decision to continue with the paid AOL subscription instead of opting for the free version. I kindly request AOL to restore my former email format with larger fonts, spaced lines, and the "stationery" option for easier readability.

I believe my account may have been compromised during the transition to Yahoo. After forgetting my password and attempting to recover it, I discovered unfamiliar details associated with my account, such as an unknown Hotmail address and unrecognized phone number. I have sought assistance, but the support I received was inadequate and I am concerned about the security of my emails. As a Foster Carer, my email correspondence is crucial, and I am hesitant to switch from AOL, our primary email provider. For further communication, please reach out to me through my husband's email at [redacted]

I received an email stating the issue was fixed, but it's still not resolved. My case number is [redacted]9. I've been an AOL customer for twenty-one years. I recently upgraded to AOL Gold after they started charging us. Everything was fine until July 1st when I needed to update my credit card. Even after adding a new card to the AOL wallet, the program wouldn't connect. I reached out to AOL and spoke with three departments and numerous operators. After three days, I was informed there is a bug in the system preventing the addition of new card information in AOL Gold until the back-end engineers fix it. This revelation came after a frustrating experience of being misled by support, continually asked for new card details, and being put on hold unnecessarily. Yesterday, the Tech Dept said they couldn't access my account and abruptly hung up. This sort of behavior is unacceptable for a company aiming to retain customers. I hope someone at the corporate office is aware of these issues and acts swiftly to prevent losing more long-time customers. I've been waiting for three days for a resolution. I called again today, but AOL can't provide any information on the progress or timeframe for resolving the problem. The lack of communication between the operators and the engineers is causing a lot of frustration. This issue is with AOL Gold software and not due to any rule violation on my part.

I am experiencing significant technical issues with my AOL account due to being hacked multiple times. I have had numerous hard drives and modem/routers replaced over the years. I am reaching out to AOL for remote assistance to verify that recent unusual activities on my account are not originating from me. Despite not saving passwords, I found a HIPAA Compliance encrypted file saved on my computer through AOL, raising concerns about security. Furthermore, there have been issues with AOL's phone recognition system not identifying my number correctly. I am bedridden and have limited access to a mobile phone. I am seeking AOL's help in understanding and resolving these issues, as it is crucial for my peace of mind given my health condition. I have sent an email to AOL but have yet to receive a response, hoping they can assist me promptly. Thank you.

I received a response from GetHuman promptly after reaching out. Although I initially contacted GetHuman to assist with AOL, the response from AOL suggested I call their 1-[redacted] number. GetHuman was quick to engage with AOL, and I appreciate their help. However, AOL's resolution didn't entirely solve my issues, as they recovered emails I hadn't deleted and some I was seeing for the first time, indicating possible hacking. Despite repeatedly changing passwords, the problem persisted. I lack a mobile phone and use a tablet, but AOL insists on sending access codes to a mobile phone. I prefer codes on my landline. This mismatch is frustrating, and the back-and-forth with AOL hasn't resolved the problem. I hope AOL can address my concerns via email to avoid endless phone calls. I seek clarity on why issues persist and a written response for better understanding. Thank you.

I am encountering a recurring issue with my AOL account. It seems that my telephone number is showing as invalid because I do not have a mobile number. After nearly two years of communication struggles with my phone provider, I finally got a POTS line, but confusion persists. The phone company's executive relations representative assured me that everything is in order now. However, when I called [redacted], the city's information line, the recorded message indicated it was not available in my area. Despite the website stating that landlines should dial [redacted], and mobile phones should use a 7-digit number. The back and forth between different services telling me I have both POTS and VOIP lines is frustrating. I suspect the phone company issues may be affecting my AOL account as well. Thank you, Joe G.

I woke up Saturday morning and discovered that all of my old emails in my AOL account had disappeared without me deleting them. I am using a Dell desktop computer with Windows 10 and browsing with Google Chrome. I contacted AOL, and they informed me that I needed to sign up for a $4.99 life support plus membership to potentially retrieve my old emails, with the option to cancel within 30 days to avoid charges. I'm hesitant to provide my credit card information over the phone, especially if I may not need to pay for the service. I strongly believe that the disappearance of my emails was not due to any action on my part. I kindly request AOL to send me an email containing all my old emails, allowing me to select which ones to keep and which ones to delete. If AOL insists on the payment for the life support plus membership, I will consider seeking services elsewhere. I have been a long-time customer of AOL and just want my old emails back at no cost, as I am not at fault for their removal.

Dear Seaside Towers Residents and Vendors, We have recently undergone management changes at Seaside Towers, and unfortunately, the previous Resident Manager has made it difficult for us to access our AOL account by changing the password without providing us with the necessary information. To ensure smooth communication, we've set up a new Gmail account that integrates with our management system and kindly request access to the AOL account or for it to be forwarded to our new Gmail account. This transition impacts [redacted] units in our condo and several vendors who rely on the AOL account for communication. Despite our efforts to reset the password through AOL's interface, we were unsuccessful due to a lack of information about the account's originator.
