What You'll Need

Only Primary Users and Account Managers can see data usage history.You have two ways of reducing the amount of mobile data you get. One is by reducing the data you are signed up for on your current plan, the other is by signing up for a new plan.

Go to Xfinity Mobile's sign in page and sign in to your Xfinity Mobile account using your Xfinity ID and password.

To track your data usage on the Xfinity app, skip to step 4.

Go to your account's Activity page.

Scroll down to the Data Usage Overview section.

There you will see your current and past data usage. This information may help you figure out under what circumstances you use the most data, or the least necessary data, which can help you figure out how to cut down on your total data usage.
Skip to step 9.

Open the app and sign in to your account.

Tap on the Services tab.

Tap on "Mobile lines and data usage."

Tap on your device.

Tap on "View data usage."

To lower your data rate or switch mobile plans, continue with subsequent steps.

Navigate to your Activity page.

To lower your monthly data by finding a cheaper mobile plan instead of by reducing the data you get with your current plan, skip to step 14.

Click on the mobile line you want to alter.

Select "Manage to By the Gig."

Lower the amount of data that you are signed up for.

Confirm that you want to switch to the lower monthly data rate.

The new rate should show up on your account within 24 hours.
Do not continue with subsequent steps.

Go to Xfinity's mobile plans page.

Select a new mobile plan with fewer bells and whistles that costs less than your current plan.

However, to avoid overage charges, if you know your mobile line will see high, regular data usage that you can't change, switch to the Unlimited option. Long term, it should cost you the least because of eliminating overages

Follow the prompts to sign up for the new plan.

You can probably lower your monthly bill more this way than you can by simply cutting down on your monthly data rate. However, you will have to do without many of the add-ons and extra features that you currently have.
