Tumblr automatically keeps archives of all of your old blog posts on one page, making it rather easy for readers to get an overview of your blog or find specific past posts. To let readers easily read your Tumblr archives, you can easily add a link to your blog.

Adding the Link via Customization Settings

  1. Go to Tumblr's home page.
  2. Click on the Log In button.
  3. Log in to your Tumbr account.
  4. If you have more than one Tumblr blog, click on the name of the blog you want to add the archive link to at the top of the page.
  5. Click on the Customize Theme button located on the right side of the page.
  6. Look through your theme's customization settings. The option of displaying an archive page link is available in the settings as a check box. Click the option that turns the link on.
  7. Click on the Save button.

If you do not see the option for displaying the archive page link, then your blog's theme does not support this option. In that case, you will either have to use the option below or choose a different theme, one that does provide the option.

Adding the Link via Changing Your Blog's Description

  1. Go to Tumblr's home page.
  2. Click on the Log In button.
  3. Log in to your Tumbr account.
  4. Click on the name of the blog you want to add the archive link to.
  5. Click on Edit Appearance.
  6. Click on Edit Theme.
  7. Click on the description box.
  8. Add a new line to the description of your blog, one that contains a HTML link to your blog's archive page.
