A NetSpend card is a prepaid Visa card that affords its users the ability to purchase goods and services with a credit card despite not being able to acquire approval for a credit card through regular channels. You can start spending as soon as you load your card and may even receive some credit after a swift application process.

Using a NetSpend card has plenty of other advantages in addition to the ability to purchase things without credit card approval. You can also get cash back from an ATM or while making purchases at select merchants using the card. Moreover, you can add checks to your NetSpend card via your smartphone.

Depositing funds directly into your NetSpend card through paychecks from your employer is also an option for some. Other ways through which funds can be directly deposited into a NetSpend card include when receiving state and federal benefits, pensions and tax refunds.

A distinctive way to directly deposit funds into your NetSpend account is by going to a NetSpend Reload Network location near you and requesting them to top up the card for you. There may be a fee for the deposit or not depending on the location.

Forgot Password

The most common account access issue faced on NetSpend is forgetting the account password. If you do not remember you account password, you do not have access to your account.

If you forgot your account password or simply want to change it, you can do so through the following process:

  1. Launch your web browser and open the NetSpend website
  2. Click 'Log In' in the top right portion of the NetSpend homepage
  3. On the account log in page, click 'Password' in the phrase 'Forgot your username or password?' below the empty log in fields
  4. On the subsequent page, input your username and email address
  5. A temporary password will be sent to the email address
  6. Open your email and locate the password reset email sent by NetSpend. Click the link in the email or paste it in your browser's URL/address bar
  7. You will be redirected to the password reset page where you will be requested to input the temporary password and then your new password twice
  8. Click 'Reset Password' to change your password. After receiving confirmation of the password reset try logging in to see if the change was indeed successful.

Forgot Username

The other scenario that may lead to you losing access to your account is forgetting your account username. You can receive your account username by following these steps:

1. Launch your web browser and open the NetSpend website

2. Click 'Log In' in the top right portion of the NetSpend homepage

3. On the account log in page, click 'username in the phrase 'Forgot your username or password?' below the empty log in fields

4. On the next page, input your email address and you will receive an email from NetSpend with your account username

5. Go to the log in page and use the username to log in to your account.
