How Do I Update My Mailing Address on My Capital One Account?

There are four ways to update your Capital One account mailing address online, via phone, via mail and in person.

Updating Address Online

In order to update your Capital One account mailing address online, follow these steps:

1. Log into your Capital One account from your computer or smart device.
2. Click the down arrow beside your profile picture (or the picture icon if you have not uploaded a profile picture).
3. Select "Profile."
4. Click on the pencil beside "Manage Address for Capital One Account."
5. Click on the pencil beside "Mailing Address."
6. Enter the new mailing address information and click "Save."
7. If you need to update your residential address as well, follow the steps above, but click the pencil beside "Residential Address" instead.
8. Click "Done."

Your new mailing and residential addresses are now saved in the Capital One system.

Updating Address Via Phone

If you are not near a computer or don't have internet installed yet, you can call Capital One here and update your address via phone. You will need to provide the following information when you call to confirm your identity:

1. Name
2. Three-digit security code
3. Date of birth
4. Account number
5. Card expiration date.

The customer service representative can update your account for you when you call in.

Updating Via Mail

If you are still receiving hard copy statements, you can change your address using the part of the bill you mail back in with your payment by following these steps:

1. Check on the front of the statement that you have a change of address.
2. On the back of the statement, enter your new mailing address.
3. Mail the statement along with your payment to Capital One.
4. When Capital One receives your statement, your account will be updated with the new address.

In Person

If you live or work near a Capital One bank, you can go to a branch location and update your account in person. You will have to show documentation with your new mailing address, such as a utility bill, and your current photo identification. Once the representative has confirmed your identification, they can update your Capital One account mailing address.
