What You Need to Get Started
Before you initiate the ACH payment, you need the following:
- Recipient's full name
- Recipient's routing and account number along with account type (checking or savings)
- Address for the recipient (in case the ACH fails, a paper check can be sent instead)
- Your deposit account number where funds will be drafted
- The BofA routing number: 026009593
- Fees to cover next day and same day ACH transactions in addition to the transfer amount
Making the ACH Payment
Once you have gathered all the information needed, you are ready to make your ACH payment:
- Log into your Bank of America online deposit account.
- Click "Transfer/Zelle" at the top of the screen.
- Select "To/From Other Banks."
- Read and accept the service agreement to enroll in this service if this is the first time you are making an ACH transfer.

- Enter the amount of the payment.
- Designate the frequency of the payment (one-time or recurring).
- Add a description of the payment if you wish.
- Click "Continue."
- On the review screen, check the information and make sure it is accurate. Edit any information that is not correct by clicking "Don't Make Transfer."
- If all the data is correct, select "Make Transfer."
- Keep the window open until the payment has completely processed.
- Check your email for the payment processing confirmation.
- You can track the status of the transfer by clicking "Transfer Activity" in your online account.
