Canceling recurring payments with a payee for which you've scheduled them can suddenly become urgent for all sorts of reasons. Luckily, Ally Bank offers an easy way to cancel these from right inside its online and mobile banking interfaces for clients. Here's a summary of the steps you need to take.

Register for Ally Bank Online Banking

Before you can digitally cancel or change a recurring bill payment, you need to ensure you're registered for online banking with Ally Bank. When you open your Ally Bank account, the bank will offer you an option for creating a username and password.

In case you don't remember these, you can contact the bank's customer service department directly to speak to a representative 24 hours per day, seven days a week.

Canceling Recurring Bill Payments

To cancel recurring bill payments with Ally Bank, you'll have two options. One of these is just for canceling your next scheduled payments, and the other is for deleting a payee entirely and canceling all of their future billing.

1. To do either of the above, first log in to your Ally Bank online or mobile account and navigate to "Activity" or "Scheduled Payments." Either of these options will give you a list of bill payments.

2. Select the payee whose bills you want to cancel, and under that payee's "Recurring Payments" options, you can either cancel an upcoming payment or delete the account completely.

3. To only cancel or change your next recurring payment or to change the details of your payment schedule, select "Edit" or "Cancel" under the payee's "Recurring Payments" option.

4. If you want to delete a payee account completely and all future payments to it, then click or tap "Delete" under their "Recurring Payments" options.

5. If you've signed up for eBills for a payee, doing the above will also cancel their future eBills.

The above steps let you easily and quickly cancel recurring payments with Ally Bank.

However, if you need to know more or have any other doubts you want to resolve, you can call their customer service line seven days a week, 24 hours a day for deeper assistance.
