Are you locked out of your ADT account? You may forget your password or even have your account hacked. This does not mean you have lost your account, thus, worry no more as recovering your account has been made easier. You can gain back control of your account in the following simple, easy-to-follow steps.
Use your computer to log onto MyADT.com, which is the official ADT webpage. The webpage will require you to enter your login details to access your account.
Below the spaces designed for your login details, there is a message "Forgot Your Password?" The message is a link that will help you start the recovery process. A click on the link will direct you to a new page where you will be required to choose the ADT account recovery path. The most secure route is the use of your email although, you can use your security questions.
Select email to use your email for the ADT account recovery. You will enter the email associated with your ADT account. Using a different email will not work since ADT will send the recovery instructions to the only email associated with your account. Alternatively, you may choose to answer your security questions. Choosing to answer the security questions will bypass the email entirely. It is an easier option since the answers to the questions are well known to you.
On the page, you will be prompted to give the address used when you registered the account. Enter the information in the required box and send it. If the address is valid, the recovery process will have started successfully.
You will receive an email sent to you from ADT with instructions on how to reset your password. Click on the link accompanying the email. The link will direct you to set a new password. The new password should be strong and with a combination of letters, numbers, and symbols. Make it as long as possible to ensure maximum security, but make sure you remember it so that you are not locked out of your account again. Repeat the password to make sure and send.
You will be prompted to select a new security question. The security question should be information unique to you and that which is easily remembered. The security question will be of help the next time you get locked out of your MyADT account. Note that you can recover your account using the answer, and you won't need to use your email.
You can set up a verbal security password to grant you administrative access both online and when you are on call with customer care. To manage your verbal passwords, select the "My Alarm" tab on your account and click on verbal passwords. Set up the verbal password according to the guidelines and finish. Finally, remember not to share your passwords with anyone,
GetHuman has been working for over 10 years on sourcing information about big organizations like ADT in order to help customers resolve customer service issues faster. We started with contact information and fastest ways to reach a human at big companies. Particularly ones with slow or complicated IVR or phone menu systems. Or companies that have self-serve help forums instead of a customer service department. From there, we realized that consumers still needed more detailed help solving the most common problems, so we expanded to this set of guides, which grows every day. And if you spot any issues with our How Do I Recover My ADT Account? guide, please let us know by sending us feedback. We want to be as helpful as possible.
