My fiance lost his job in jan **** and had been ill. He had never been late on mortgage payments until this so he was offered an assistance program for * mos or til he got a new job. He was told by phone and in writing that after the assistance program ends, as long as monthly payments which were lowered for those months, were paid on time, his mortgage would go back to current and delinquency would be put in back of the mortgage loan or have a repayment plan. This did not happen. The agreement was to end in April ****, and in march we recieved a letter of forclosure, and was told if he did not pay the entire sum of **, *** dollars immediately he would lose his house. He was told and written to, that this was an assistance program to help him while being laid off and ill, and if he knew wells fargo would expect almost ***** $ in one sum after * mos, while looking for work, he would never agreed to the program. Point being he and his preservation specialist knew during this time, he did not have **,*** dollars, which is also why asst payments were temp brought down to **$. * The asst program ended in april ****, and he then was told the only way he could keep his home, if he could not pay the **, ***, was to do a short sale or a modification which meant his monthly payment would go up for additional ** ys and interest rate from *.* to * .**. He was told because its FHA the rate goes up, however, he has already paid ** ys on the house and after calculating, with this modification, he wouldnt be paying back **,***. The rate would have stayed at *.* if he was given the option for repayment or put in back of the loan, but with the modification, He would be paying back *****$. We have spoken to many departments, investigators, and bankers to try and resolve this. We have been transferred back and forth to every dept and no one seems to be able to help. We were assigned an investigator to have this looked into entirely and called her many many times and do not get a return call or can reach her ever. All we are asking for is for wells fargo to recognize that when he agreed to the original asst program, he was not given the correct info and was not told at all that a modification would occur after, in fact, he was told the money owed would b in back of the loan or repayment, but that the regular mortgage payment of ****.** a month at *.*% interest would stay the same as long as payments were made on time during asst program, which they were. Now, we are at the point of not knowing if we are going to lose the home, or even be able to pay it modified. If money owed could not be put in back of loan, we asked for the repayment plan, and are told thats no longer an option. The specialist we orig had, who did not tell us this info, at the end of asst program, told us that this is a big misconception, regarding asst program. We even asked wells fargo to listen back on phone conversations and all the letters, to see none of this was explained at all and that we were given entirely false information. We are asking to please speak to someone who can help us resolve this, and work with us. We have children living in the home and need to be able to pay our mortgage and not lose our home. The asst program sounded helpful during hardship and then we find out it is not what we were told. On top of that, have not been able to find anyone to help resolve this.
