Back on January **th, ****, I signed up for a ‘semi-free trial’ of the Washington Post’s online content for $*.**. To the best of my knowledge, that $*.** I paid them was supposed to give me access for one month. But I *NEVER* intended on keeping any kind of paid subscription beyond the trial period. So within minutes of beginning the trial period, I immediately went looking into how I could CANCEL the “free” trial in order to make absolutely sure that I wouldn’t have any surprise charges. So when I received the confirmation email regarding my one month access trial period, I went over ALL the details & fine print in that email correspondence with a fine-toothed comb to find detailed instructions on how to cancel my subscription. But sadly, it was all in vain! NOWHERE IN THAT EMAIL DID THEY TELL ME HOW TO UNSUBSCRIBE!!! So, seeing as I’m pretty tech-savvy, if you will, I figured i’d have no problems finding it on their website* but I was WRONG! I went online, logged into my account, and STILL there was absolutely zero information on how to STOP my subscription!!! That is unquestionably deceiving & unethical business practices! Now, fast forward to today, and I’ve just been charged a whopping $**.** for the *SECOND* time since this nightmare first occurred way back in January. So, in total, the Washington Post has stolen an incredible $**.** from me and I am demanding a full refund! The first time this $**.** was debited from my checking account on March **th, ****, it caused my checking account to overdraw and I was stuck paying obscene ISF fees to my bank, which I most definitely cannot afford because I have been unable to work in well over a year due to extraordinarily severe medical emergencies—invasive brain surgery in May, **** for one. My husband is disabled and also cannot work, and although we both have begun the painstakingly long process of applying for disability benefits, unfortunately neither one of us have gone to court yet to get the SSDI process rolling* which means that my husband and I haven’t had ANY income coming into our home for approximately ** months! This is a disgrace! And to make matters worse, I just got wind of a SECOND unauthorized charge of $**.** that is currently pending on my checking account!!! When this charge clears or posts to my account tomorrow morning, it will AGAIN overdraw my checking account and I absolutely DO NOT have any available funds to cover the astronomical fees! I am so beyond angry and I absolutely must insist on a swift-moving refund in the amount of $**.** immediately, please!!
