I was given a new Vanilla card - spoke to a rep who asked for my SSN etc. He said there was $**.** on the card. So I made a purchase for $**.** at Amazon* & it was declined. Called back, told that a $*.** charge was levied on the unused $**.**. My son forgot he had it. Two calls after that one rep said my calls would be excellent for coaching, & too bad that happened, over and over. I think the right thing would be to restore $** to the card as a one-time courtesy. If I had been given the correct information in the first place I would never have made the purchase at Amazon.
