Help with my Synchrony Bank issue

Synchrony Bank's call center is closed now. We will send GetHuman-lee_jodi a reminder to call them when they open. Nothing to do for now but wait!
The issue in GetHuman-lee_jodi's own words
I called synchrony bank regarding a $*.** balance on my Lowe's credit card The account was closed in **** due to inactivity The last payment I had made was made in a Lowe's store and I paid the balance in full Definitely confused why this $*.** came from We have never received anything from synchrony bank stating that we owed $*.** We didn't find out about it until applying for a home loan I called synchrony bank to make the payment and get a letter stating that the balance was paid I talk to a manager at synchrony bank who first told me she can send me a letter today saying that the balance was zero She also let me know that it would take ** days to get a paid in full letter from synchrony I asked her what was the difference between the two and she said hold on a minute When she came back she informed me that the best she could do was get me a letter in ** days When I asked her why she was changing what she told me about sending a letter today she just repeated that that was their policy for a ** day wait. At that time I told her that I would like to pay the $*.** balance that was when she informed me that her system was down and she could not process the payment and that I would have to just send a check in the mail which would take an additional four or five days to get processed making my wait time ** or ** days for the latter at that point our conversation was over. Not believing what she was telling me about the payment I am mediately called synchrony bank back and was immediately able to make the payment over the phone It appears she was definitely not telling me the truth about making a payment My problem is that this $*.** charge has negatively affected my credit report to the point where I can no longer qualify for a home loan until this matter is resolved If I have to wait ** days for this latter I will lose the house we are trying to buy. I made the same request from Discover card and capital one Oh sent me a letter within an hour My goal is to get this letter much sooner so I do not lose the house
