I am a US citizen living in Canada. I collect Social Security (SS) benefits. *The problem begins when SS suddenly cut my payments without explanation. When contacted, SS local office in Bellingham said I was "overpaid," no explanation. I argued that I am not responsible for SS's mistake if it actually is one. Eventually SS paid itself back, apparently, and payments to me resumed at a reduced rate. Then, mysteriously they were again cut without explanation. This time I filed a formal complaint. That was over * months ago, and no response. The Bellingham office says the decision is in process and I should know within ** days. They said that over six months ago! Now, without explanation, I received NO PAYMENT AT ALL for September except an interest payment of *.** on * dollars paid. Does this make even arithmetic sense? I need to know how to get this fixed. I have documented very carefully everything I said here, including with bank statements, dates, amounts, and notes on phone calls. Can you help? I simply need SS to resume uninterrupted payments of the amount I received prior to them cutting the amount for mysterious reasons more than a year ago. I need this done now. I need a formal response to my official appeal that was never answered for over * months.
