I need to address several concerns with the Corporate offices of Simon Property Group, Inc. in relation to the Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg, IL. 1. Thanksgiving/Black Friday at Woodfield was chaotic due to insufficient Police and Mall Security presence. The property manager and staff seemed unprepared for the high activity level, further exacerbated when Chance the Rapper unexpectedly appeared. A fight broke out between Thanksgiving and Black Friday, lasting over 20 minutes with no intervention from Mall security. 2. The new property manager's behavior does not align with Simon Property Group values, coming across as curt and rude in interactions with customers and tenants. Past managers and staff were more cooperative, contrasting sharply with the current situation. 3. As Drake's appearance on December 15th approaches, it's vital for Simon's Property Management to have a well-planned strategy, especially since this event is expected to draw larger crowds than previous ones. Mall Management must prioritize public safety and crowd control to prevent past incidents of feeling unsafe due to overcrowding.
