Shop safely during Black Friday ... I have several issues to communicate to the Corporate offices of Simon Property Group, Inc. regarding the Woodfield Mall location in Schaumburg, IL. **. Being a resident of Schaumburg for many decades, I will start off by saying that this past Thanksgiving*Black Friday at Woodfield was an utter disaster due to a lack of Police presence, a huge lack of Mall Security and an overall impression that the new property manager and office staff were completely ill-equipped to handle such an event in a market known for this level of activity. The fact that Chance the Rapper showed up unannounced mere exacerbated an already lacking preparation plan. Thanksgiving is now the *nd or *rd year in a row in which a fight has broken out during the overnight hours between Thanksgiving and Black Friday to which the Mall and it's security have done little to protect other customers. This recent fight although related to the presence of Chance the Rapper continued for more than ** minutes without any intervention from the Mall.**. The Property Management Staff and particularly the new property manager are NOT representing the Simon Property Group values well in terms of customer relations (both end-users as well as tenants who pay a large sum of money monthly to Simon) In several interactions, it has been observed by employee's and customers of retail stores that the Property Manager is Curt, demanding and just plain rude in her communication style. I believe that many businesses within the Woodfield Mall market have worked well with previous manager's, Security Staff (Cliff), and office staff* However, this seems to no longer be the case. This all was poignantly demonstrated in the massive line of people who appeared on Monday, Nov. ** to share their thoughts and complaints, seemingly to no avail.**. I certainly hope and anticipate a thoroughly prepared game plan from Simon's Property Management staff for Drake's appearance on December **th* as undoubtedly Micheal Corr's has already reached out to inform them of the event. Rest assured Drake's presence in the Mall will draw significantly more people than the YouTube Vlogger James Charles. **When people feel unsafe in a Mall due to over-crowding for whatever reason, it is the Mall Management's responsibility to ensure changes happen and reassure the public that they are safe. This was not at all the experience too many people had this past weekend.
How unsafe Woodfield Mall was on Thanksgiving*Black Friday as well as how the management staff is not representing Simon Property Values when it comes to customer service to end user and tenants.
Retrain the Management staff or replace them as well as providing a safe environment for customers to shop during high volume shopping days.
We have lived in Schaumburg for ** years, and have shopped at Woodfield Mall on a continuous basis.
I have an issue with Simon Property Group, Inc. too
