Get a refund of $** for the over-payment paid to the Sears Hometown store in East Liverpool * Calcutta* Ohio. ... I am trying to get Sears to honor their price match policy. *I was looking to buy a new self-propelled lawn mower. A friend brought his Sears self-propelled mower over to my place to try it out. My wife and I decided that this would work for us so I searched online for the same model. *Craftsman ***** * *Sears.com showed the mower on sale for $***.**. (as sold by Sears.) *The selling price of the mower at the local Sears store was $***.*** I entered my email address to supposedly receive a coupon for this discount. We went to the Sears Hometown store which was a ** mile trip, only to find that they would not honor the discounted price. The sales person there also claimed that they were not "under" the same corporate rules. *Which I found out later to be a false statement.* The supposed email with the alleged coupon did not appear in my email even though it had been several hours since requesting it.*The store we visited, Sears Hometown in East Liverpool Ohio, would not lower the price from $***. We chose at the time to just pay the higher price since we had driven all that distance and we needed the mower. *The email finally arrived about a half a hour AFTER we bought the mower and DID NOT contain any coupon. It did have the ad which showed the model ***** at a price of $***. Of course by this time (almost * pm) the store was closing. I called customer support and was told by a "foreign accented female rep" that they had no control over what price the stores sold their product for.*So we drove home. *The mower is still in the box, still in the car.*I search through the Sears.com website and found their "Price Match Policy". It basically says that Sears WILL match price from a Sears branded store of which the Sears Hometown store is one.*ALSO in their price protection policy they state that Sears will refund the difference if a lower price is found within ** days of purchase.*In essence, we are asking Sears to refund the $** that we overpaid to the "Hometown" store. If they can not or will not do this before the end of today, we will make the drive back to the store *ANOTHER ** mile round trip* to return the mower.**I have photos and documents of all this information if needed.*
The email coupon from Sears.com never appeared. The store would not honor the discount. Customer support rep claim Sears does not control the pricing. Their online pricing policy information says different.
All I am asking is for Sears to refund $**, the difference from the $*** that we paid and the $*** advertised. OR they can issue a return authorization for the mower which is still in the box and in the car.
We have bought many Sears *Kenmore * Craftsman products over the years and this really is the first time for a major issue with them.
Just waiting for Sears to call me. It's been over * days and it is not fixed.
