Hello - *We have a Rheem HVAC system which was originally installed in *******. In ****, the system was replaced with a system that has aluminum components, instead of the faulty copper ones that leaked freon constantly. It was costing us a fortune to have freon added every time, or the system would freeze up because of the low levels of freon. *Since we had the newer system installed in ****, once the external temps reach i.e. ** degrees, and once the heater begins to idle down, there is a loud banging sound coming from the HVAC lines leading to the upstairs system. Earlier this year, I contacted Rheem who was going to send us the TXV. A tech. here said he doubted it wss the TXV, and apparently, he was wrong. ** *The original model* serial number system from **** is, *RHLL ******E*****PJL ****W**********Registration Date - **-**-*****The above system was completely replaced in ****. *I was reading somewhere that the system that we presently have has a “non-bleed” TXV (valve) and because of the issue that we’ve had since the winter of **** (only makes banging sounds in winter) not with A*C running. The TXV should be replaced with a bleed-type valve (pressure releasing) and it should solve the issue. *Do you know who sells the part, what number, and if there is a Rheem distributor in San Antonio, TX that can replace the valve, hopefully solving this issue?
