I got a email saying I’ve ordered a phone it’s not me and I don’t have a PayPal account

We're sorry to hear this. This could be a potential phishing attempt by individuals trying to gain access to your personal information. It might not have anything to do with PayPal UK as you mentioned you don't have an account. Never click on any links or provide information to an email you find suspicious. As a precaution, it's recommended to change your email password and ensure your computer is protected with up-to-date antivirus software. Call your bank to check if any unauthorised transactions have occurred. Even though you're not a PayPal UK customer, you can report the suspicious email to PayPal at spoof@paypal.com.

can't change my phone number to get into my account

We understand your issue. To change the phone number in your PayPal UK account, sign into your account and click the gear icon in the upper right corner to go to your 'Settings'. In the 'Phone' portion, click 'Update', then 'Add a phone', and follow the prompts to add and confirm the new number. When finished, you can remove the old number from the account in the same settings. If you can't sign in for this process, you can choose the 'Forgotten your email address or password?' option to recover your account with an alternate method. Your account's security is PayPal's priority, so confirmation steps are necessary.

My old phone number with PayPal has been discontinued I've just started using PayPal again after about 2 years but when i try logging in they send a verification code to my old number ? Which i can not access

To update an old phone number on your PayPal account, you need to log in to your account first. If you're unable to log in because the verification code is being sent to your old number, you can choose the 'Having trouble logging in?' option on the login page. From there, you can choose 'I don’t have access to my phone' option, which allows you to verify your identity through your email address or security questions. Once your identity is verified, you can update your phone number in the personal information section of your account settings.
