I have been a loyal customer to NYSC for over * years, despite REPEATED issues of WEEKS of cold showers at a time (at all the locations I went to), no towels, broken down equipment, late club openings where dozens of people are waiting in the parking lot for someone to open the club (frequently the case in Oceanside, NY location). And yet, every month I have paid the full membership amount even though I was not getting the services I was promised when I signed the contract. Now it has come time where I have to take time away from the gym due to a medical issue. Even though I unfortunately just paid my yearly renewal fee last month. And after all the concessions I've allowed the club over the years, I am finding that I am not allowed this one concession of simply cancelling my membership that I will not be able to use. I do not think that it is fair that on top of the yearly renewal fee, I am being asked to pay for another month of membership that I cannot use. I have always been understanding of the clubs shortcomings and therefore, I find it unconscionable that I am not even treated with the slightest bit of fairness from this organization in return. I have to ask anyone with half a business mind if it makes sense to take yet another $**.** from me (for services I cannot even utilize) and lose a client forever or do the right thing and allow me to cancel the membership without further charges so that when I do come back to the gym several months from now, that it would again be at NYSC. I am hoping that someone in the organization can make the right choice here where everyone benefits.
They could make this right by cancelling my membership today without charging me for next month since I can no longer use my membership.
