The issue in GetHuman-f_zapata's own words
I have been a loyal member of New York Sports Club ever since moving to New York about ** years ago. For * years I have been going to the same location in Grand Central station. In February **** the Grand Central location was "upgraded" to an Elite location. That alone is BS, the gym was completely run down and they simply added new equipment and painted the walls.**When the change happened all members were informed that if one did not have an Elite membership we would be charged a $** usage fee. I explicitly asked whether I was affected by this change and I was told by the Grand Central staff that my account was not affected and I could continue to use the location without additional charge.*** months have gone by and I was just charged a $*** fee in addition to my monthly membership fee. When I inquired about this I was told that it was the usage fee for the month of September since I was not an Elite member. This is ridiculous considering I specifically asked and have never since then been informed of the fact that I do not have an Elite membership. I use the gym *-* times a week, you would think they'd inform me of this. **I called *-* times to try to resolve this and the manager continuously dodged my calls. She finally called back today to inform me that she cannot refund the amount unless I upgrade my account to an Elite membership and pay the additional fee (***% higher monthly fee from what I currently pay).**This is extremely unethical. I've tried contacting also the corporate office at Member Services and they sent me back to the Grand Central location manager, who in turn keeps saying that it's something I need to take up with Member Services.
GetHuman-f_zapata did not yet indicate what New York Sports Clubs (NYSC) should do to make this right.
