I'm taking a break from online media and decided to cancel all of my subscriptions to various outlets (LA Times, SF Chronicle, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, and The NYT) I've been an online subscriber of the NYT for * years. The NYT does not allow one to cancel their internet subscription online (unline The Washington Post or the Wall Street Journal). One must call in, wait and then give personal information including account number which took some time and effort to find, then be transferred to another department and wait some more. I was required to state * times that I wished to cancel my subscription. The entire process took ** minutes. Pretty dehumanizing. I won't resubscribe unless I learn they've changed they're customer service policies and procedures.
