I have been working out at the LA fitness on Atlantic Blvd. Neptune Beach , Florida. .. since it opened *-* years ago. Some time back, maybe * years ago, they designated an area for professional training only. I use the trainers off and on, always have. When I use the area without my trainer, I am always respectful of the other people. Always make sure that I am not interfering with their session etc. I always put my equipment away and have never had any issues with other trainers. Tonight the area was empty and completely roped off so I just went in and started my usual routine. Shortly after, one of the staff insisted that I could not be in there without my trainer. When I explained that often have to work out on my own due to schedule issues, I was told that I simply could not work out in the area. The explanation given is that others have abused the area by leaving it a mess. This is a real issue for me as I am not the one causing the problem. I have been a loyal member and always respectful of staff and members as well as the equipment. I pay good money for the services and like the isolation of the training area. Also there is some equipment that is only available in that area. I think there needs to be a better solution than the one that they have in place now.
