We have been buying Kraft caramels for years. Two days ago I was enjoying one, bit down and felt something hard. In the process of fishing it out of the half-chewed, gooey caramel I realized it had broken the corner of a molar off. I take great pride in having all my original teeth in very good condition at **. So, this incident is very disturbing. *The foreign piece in the caramel measures approximately * x * x *mm. It feels heavy for being so small, so I am assuming it is metal. It is a grayish-black in color and the one side seems polished, almost looking like mother-of-pearl. The other side is more irregular. I can send pictures if you provide me an email address. We do not still have the original bag that the wrapped caramels came in, so we are not able to supply any code or date info.*I've never had something like this happen to me before, and be assured I have never sought damages from any company. I am a retired University administrator and no longer have dental insurance. While I am by no means destitute, it is the principle involved here. *I don't know whether this will be simple--filing the sharp corners of the tooth off, a filling, or at the other extreme, an extraction and a dental implant. *I can't imagine how this could have happened, but obviously machines are used in food processing, wear happens, and I guess sometimes pieces break off, contaminate the product, and end up on store shelves.*I am not someone who is litigious by nature, but I hope that your company will step up and reimburse me for my expenses and loss so I can stay that way.*I await hearing from you.
