I am the owner of a vehicle that I financed through Household Bank FSB many years ago. The vehicle was paid off years ago and I never received a lien release for the title. I am at a point I would like to sell it and so I pulled the title out and realized it still shows a lien even though it has been paid off for all these years. I live in Kansas and went to the DMV and spoke to the manager to see if they could advise or help me and I got no where with that. When I tried looking up Household Bank I discovered that they closed voluntarily and liquidated their assets in ****. I kept researching on the internet and came across some information regarding the FDIC and the possibility of them maybe being able to help me regarding this matter. So I gave them a call and was told that they would not be able to help me due to the fact that Household Bank Self liquidated and closed on their own. I was told by the gentleman that I spoke to that I should try to contact the Illinois Secretary of State to see if they could help me. Household Banks headquarters was stationed in Wood Dale Illinois, so I am hoping that you can help or advise me in some way to figure out what I need to do to get a lien release for my vehicle.
