The issue in GetHuman-ephineig's own words
Install, replace old T-Stat ... We purchased a RTH**** thermostat to keep our shop warm over weekends and are having issues getting it to work properly. The old thermostat worked just fine with our Modine gas infrared heater. We have * wires coming from the heater high up on the ceiling down to the thermostat wall mount. After much research we have read that the Hot wire lands on the R terminal and the other to the W terminal. Now, when we snap the unit to the wall mount and apply power, the heater comes on and stays on wide open full heater and cannot be shut ofd no matter what on or off we program on the thermostat. Our questions are...**) is it wired right? Cant change much along that line**And***) are the parameters set correctly. They are set to default factory setting.**Some feed back would be greatly appreciated. We have had several people look at the manual, the wiring, and the parameters here. Some engineers, some machinists, and we are all baffled. We purchased * units and have tried both with the same results. Honestly, we dont think its *the heater either, it obvioulsly works.
