rented from someone in astoria oregon and when we arrived around **:** pm (the owner knew we would be late) we found the place totally dark and all the beds were unmade and i mean the filthy sheets were still on. we were completely disgusted but did not want to double pay by staying at a nearby hotel an by now it was nearly *:** in the morning.*called the owner the next day she offered to send a housecleaner over. i declined the offer because it was terrible weather and we were all exhausted and we thought the horror of the place had worn off. we did put clean sheets over the existing sheets. I spoke with the owner again and I stated we should not be charged for our stay (the whole house was gross, garbage, lots of hair in the sink, the upstairs shower did not drain properly so I was literally standing in a foot of water with a filthy plastic shower curtain floating . I believe she called me a name and said I was out of line in my request and would refund the cleaning deposit period. The owner was extremely unprofessional. All we wanted was a quiet * days because we had all been working hard, quite the opposite. When we think back at the experience it really seams like a nightmare.
