Get a refund. I was told by Mae and Shawn that Hearst corporation sold my subscription, I was told to email cancelmag.org. That is not a valid email address, kids. I have submitted my request to cancelmag.org in writing* I am "uncomfortable" legally about this. ... Tried to cancel subscriptions to Elle, Marie Claire, Cosmopolitan* all mailings were suspended by the reps. I was then told to get refund from third party agency that has no valid email address. Put postal request to address on voicemail that may or may not be real. Customer service reps a quarter my age were rude beyond belief. I cannot make any changes online, and the email address on file was one that I haven't used in a decade. I want refunds on all Hearst publications to whatever address is on file: Marie Claire, Elle, Cosmopolitan and Woman's Day, to which I never subscribed. The rudeness and lack of transparency is enough to say I have no interest in anything Hearst magazines has to offer. The fact that I sent change of address and marketing data suppression requests for each magazine only to be told Hearst has farmed out subscriptions I've had for years is creepy, i.e, I'm "uncomfortable" and do not agree to the legal terms of service. Refund my money before we argue contract law and I escalate this? If Hearst customer service reps don't understand the value of their customers, who may or may not be relevant to their paycheck, then Hearst corporation has an HR issue that is beyond the scope of my participation as a subscriber
I was a subscriber for longer than Mae and Shawn have been alive. Being "right" isn't the point, "making it right," and not losing a customer because you are condescending and insulting might have been a more productive approach. Note to anyone else, lesson here is I have no magazines, and won't get a refund* can't dispute bc I paid by check, and it would cost more to cancel the checks then to surrender. So I've been scammed and you've been warned. You're welcome. Don't make my mistake?
I want a refund to the address on file for Cosmopolitan, Elle, and Marie Claire. I don't expect a refund for a magazine I never asked for. I want my personal data supressed from marketing.
I'm not a good customer. obviously, two customer service reps basically implied I didn't understand the conversation we were having, I am burden, I'm old and stupid. Under the circumstances, I can't possibly benefit from anything these magazines have to offer. So we learn from this experience that I'm not the Hearst demographic and they don't value me but they'll take my money and hold it hostage. I am not a good customer at all.
I wrote to the CEO of Hearst magazines, the general counsel and the President of Hearst. I spoke with Mae and Shawn in Hearst customer service, who made it clear I am not Hearst's problem and neither is my refund(s.) I wrote to M* Media and my next step is to file a complaint with DMA Opt-out, with whom I have already spoken. They can't get my money back, but they can enforce my request for suppression of personal data. Next week I'll tackle world peace and climate change? BTW, I already tried this website a month ago. Are you just another scam?
