H & R Block mishandled my tax refund, leaving me frustrated and disappointed with their service. They mistakenly sent my refund to an old card without being able to stop or redirect the funds, all because I couldn't provide an expiration date for a card I haven't used in years. Despite providing all other necessary information, they failed to assist in preventing this issue. I am considering taking this matter to the news as they have caused unnecessary inconvenience by withholding my refund. This experience has made me lose faith in their reliability. I had important plans and bills dependent on that money, and their incompetence has impacted me negatively. It's disheartening to see a company fail to help someone who works tirelessly to support the elderly and disabled community.

Hello, I encountered issues while attempting to file my taxes and upgraded to the deluxe program for assistance. Despite spending $72, engaging in lengthy conversations with customer support and the IRS, I discovered a program error within H&R Block. The software did not allow me to input a pin/signature for a deceased spouse, making it impossible to file jointly. I had to resort to using another service that accommodated the necessary "filing as surviving spouse" signature field, incurring additional charges. I am currently on hold, but seeking information on obtaining a refund for the filing services I procured. The program limitation has made it unfeasible to submit my taxes accurately to the IRS using H&R Block, confirmed by the IRS. As a result, I request a refund for the services I paid for but will not be using. I appreciate any assistance you can provide.

I am experiencing an issue with the import server for financial institutions, which was functional a week ago. I have multiple transactions to import for my tax return, and manual entry is not ideal. I checked my internet connection, and it seems to be working correctly. Despite attempting to solve this problem through tech support chat, I had no success. I strongly urge H&R Block to address this matter promptly by ensuring the servers are operational.

I'm an S-corp owner filing the 1120S form. Our company, with two employees (myself and my husband), earns revenue through sales commissions. I'm unsure if I qualify for the QBI deduction, possibly as an SSTB, but can't find the rules. Our net pass-through income after wages is under $100k. My software prompts a 199A form, which isn't available. I'm seeking guidance on whether my business activity qualifies for QBI, if it's an SSTB, and how to input this in my Premium Business software. Thank you for your assistance. -Kathy

Greetings, I encountered a frustrating ordeal with Block Customer Service last week, enduring a 2.5-hour wait on hold without success. My current predicament involves attempting to print an amended [redacted] return (1040X) through the H&R Block [redacted] app on my Mac. These are the steps I've taken thus far: 1. Upon launching the H&R Block [redacted] app, I completed the Mac optimization prompt and proceeded with the return amendment. 2. After creating the 1040X, I discovered a "Not for Filing" watermark on every page when I tried to print the final version for the IRS. 3. To address this, I revisited hrblock.com to check for software updates. 4. Following an update, I encountered an error when trying to specify my product version as "Basic" instead of the required "Premium," despite my original purchase being the former. 5. Despite selecting the inaccurate version and restarting my Mac post-update, the watermark issue persists on all pages. Important Note: My Mac operates on Mac OS High Sierra 10.13.6, and I urgently need to resolve this matter as I have two additional returns to amend. Thank you, Jill N.

On Sunday, March 8th, [redacted], while completing my taxes online for the third year, I encountered a confusing question. I clicked on a "help" button and received a message stating we were "unable to link up." I resolved the issue on my own. However, I noticed that my credit card was charged $34.99 instead of $24.99. After contacting customer service and speaking with Chris, he assured me the extra $10.00 would be refunded. Despite checking with my credit card company on Monday and yesterday, only the $34.99 charge from H&R Block is appearing. Can you help me resolve this discrepancy?

I encountered difficulties while trying to purchase the HRBlock software on your website. Despite inputting my credit card details, an error message stating 'transaction not able to process' appeared twice upon submission. Strangely, my bank statement shows two charges of $44.49 each from your site. I didn't receive a download link or any email confirmation after the double charge. I seek resolution through email or phone communication. To clarify, I wish to keep one purchase and obtain access to the software. However, if unresolved, I may involve my bank to dispute the charges. Thank you.

I have bought the Premium and Business CDs for tax years 2[redacted] for my personal Federal taxes and 2 Special Needs Trusts on my Windows 7 computers. Now, I want to purchase the [redacted] version. Despite Windows 7 no longer being supported, I bought an HR Block [redacted] CD advertised for use on Windows 7/8/10 from Amazon but only found Windows 8.1/10 instructions. I returned it. A Staples employee mentioned the [redacted] software could work on Windows 7, and I would like HR Block to clarify how to use their [redacted] software on my current Windows 7 computer. Thank you, Don F.

I encountered the exact same issue. Initially, when I bought the software online and promptly charged my credit card, everything worked fine. However, when I tried to update the state, the message instructed me to check my settings/firewall. Despite turning off all security measures, the problem persisted. Fortunately, Edward from Facebook, representing HR Block, assisted me by sending a new installation package, resolving the state upload issue. As I proceeded to prepare my taxes without changing any settings, the problem recurred during filing. Although I was directed to the digital team, I have been on hold for 1 hour and 5 minutes now. The very software I have been loyal to even before electronic filing was an option is currently malfunctioning. I have never experienced this many issues without receiving adequate assistance from a live person.

I visited HR Block to file my tax return. I informed the receptionist and the accountant about my husband's tax-exempt status as an overseas contractor. The accountant started preparing the taxes, but later notified me via email that she couldn't figure out the tax exemption. I requested to discuss it further, but she admitted she didn't know how to proceed. She mentioned seeking help but couldn't resolve it. When I asked to retrieve my documents to take elsewhere, she mentioned a $75 consultation fee, which left me puzzled. I was clear about our situation and needed someone knowledgeable about foreign earned income.

I am using your free e-filing software for the first time to file my federal and state taxes this year. I found the process on your website to be simple and convenient. However, I have encountered an issue when trying to submit my returns. The IRS keeps rejecting my federal return, stating that my [redacted] AGI or the five-digit number I created last year for the electronic signature does not match IRS records. I have double-checked the information I entered from Line 7 on last year's [redacted], and I am confident that it is correct. I am not sure why I am facing this rejection if the information is accurate. Could there have been a change in my return from last year that I am unaware of? Do I need to resort to mailing my return manually since I have never e-filed before? I hope this matter can be resolved easily. Your assistance in this issue is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I have an existing case ID for an issue with my tax return. After my first case was closed without any follow-up, I initiated a new case. I've called twice and each time, I was supposedly transferred to Tier 2 support for assistance. However, both times I was met with a message saying the office is closed and got disconnected. Despite my request to the Tier 1 representative to prevent the disconnection, the outcome was the same. I am requesting for a member of Tier 2 at H&R Block to reach out to me regarding my case.

I have a query for a tax professional. My aunt filed her taxes in February with assistance from an individual who is now demanding payment upon her receiving the return. Despite her paying him, my aunt, who is elderly with heart issues and currently under lockdown in Laredo due to the pandemic, cannot physically visit her bank to settle the payment. The person is threatening to cancel her return if she doesn't pay by a specified date. I'm wondering if it's within his rights to do so despite her tax return already being processed and deposited in her bank account. Is such an action legal in this situation?

I used H&R Block for my taxes last year. They informed me I would receive $1,[redacted] back. Unfortunately, as in previous years, I again received a smaller refund. This discrepancy has now occurred twice, and it is concerning. In the first instance, I waited and received a smaller return than expected, discovering later I actually owed what H&R Block had said I would receive. Now, after again expecting a refund, I received a letter from the IRS stating I owe either $[redacted] or $1,[redacted], an amount different from what H&R Block had told me. I believe an error may be happening during the filing which needs to be resolved by a knowledgeable professional.

I submitted my taxes several months ago. During the filing, the tax preparer mentioned a noticeable decrease in my refund compared to last year, despite no changes in my circumstances. I trusted her expertise and didn't think much of it. Recently, I received a letter from the IRS stating I qualified for the child tax credit that was not included in my return. This mistake amounts to $2,[redacted], and I'm frustrated that it will take at least four months for the IRS to process the amended return, a step that could only happen after my original return was filed. I believe this oversight is unacceptable, negligent, and does not align with the no mistakes guarantee. I am requesting a refund of my preparation fee or a waiver for next year's fee. The lack of attention to detail regarding the money owed to me, especially during the current financial strain caused by the pandemic, is troubling. I hope for a prompt resolution to this matter. - A. B.

I encountered an issue while filling out my tax return regarding registering my military spouse's home of record status. I paid an extra $50 for online assistance and received incorrect information from a tax expert. I have screenshots of the conversation for record-keeping. Additionally, when trying to input investment income, H&R Block requested another $40, which I found frustrating. Seeking a refund through chat support, I was transferred multiple times and faced a long wait. The estimated wait time kept changing from 50 to 60 minutes. Feeling dissatisfied with the service and support, I am requesting a full refund and do not plan to use H&R Block in the future.

I have been a loyal customer of H&R Tax Software (desktop CD version) in Arizona for many years. I am disappointed that the software does not support Arizona tax form [redacted] for Qualifying Foster Care Charitable Organizations. I regularly donate to charities that use this form, and it is inconvenient to have to download it separately from the Arizona website. I have previously used the Premium version but switched to Deluxe recently. I enjoy using your product, but the lack of support for Form [redacted] is frustrating. I have friends interested in using H&R Block for their taxes, but they are hesitant due to this missing feature. Please consider adding support for Form [redacted] to your software, as it has been a long-standing form in Arizona. Thank you, N.H.

I recently bought H&R Block Deluxe +1 State for the fifth consecutive year. However, I encountered e-filing issues for the first time this tax season. Despite multiple attempts over several weeks, I couldn't e-file my return successfully. After contacting support and following their instructions, including a live chat with an agent named Latera, the problem persisted and was eventually attributed to my internet provider. I spent a month trying to resolve the e-filing problem and unfortunately did not achieve the primary goal of using the software. Therefore, I kindly request a refund for the purchase price of the software.

My client, Eiman Mohammed Amulla, was visiting on a J-1 VISA, but due to the worsening virus situation, her country required her to return. Initially, we discovered an error with her social security number, which was rectified by obtaining a corrected W-2 from her employer just before her departure. After receiving the corrected W-2, I updated the information in Blockworks accordingly. Despite facing difficulties in setting up her myblock account, she managed to do so eventually, and we have been communicating through Work Center. When attempting to upload her return, I encountered an issue where Blockworks indicated her account was inactive. I reached out to tech support, who advised that my client contact them directly via phone, which is challenging given her location. As I await resolution, I have refrained from making any further changes until the return is submitted. While I have her updated contact details (excluding phone), any adjustments are postponed pending the return process. I am seeking alternative assistance for my client, and I hope to receive guidance on resolving this matter promptly. Thank you. Sincerely, Jana Hoyle.

For the past decade, I've relied on using HRBlock Deluxe along with the State software to file my Federal and State returns without any issues until now. I bought the [redacted] HRBlock Deluxe FederalState bundle from amazon.com on January 13, [redacted], and downloaded it successfully. When I attempted to access my Massachusetts State return on March 20, I encountered a problem. Instead of recognizing my purchase, the software requested payment again. After deciding to buy it separately for $39.95, the State form did not download, and I was mistakenly charged three times, totaling $[redacted].85, which I now see on my Discover statement. I have already informed Discover about the defective HRBlock State software purchase I made on March 20 and have initiated a dispute for the charges. I am hoping for a prompt resolution to rectify these issues.
