I am requesting my story be aired because I am one of thousands of victims in the bi-state area, as well across the nation. My story affects all persons who shop at Walmart. Walmart's senior management's ongoing decision to place low costs over adequate security has resulted in my story being a common occurrence. **Thus, it's time to put a personal face on the impact of Walmart's ongoing decisions to forgo adequate security for their customers. Its time to put a personal face on the number of customers falsely charged with crimes by Walmart, with no remedy for the victim and no ramification on Walmart because the laws are written in Walmart's favor thanks to the their lobbiests. It's time to show the significant costs to the tax payers and the negative impact on their safety, as well as their communities' safety because local police are forced in the role of being Walmart's primary security, as in my story. **In ****, Bloomberg News compares does a comparative analysis between crimes Walmart and Target. Target has adequate security* therefore, their stores do not rely on the local police to fulfille the statutory requirements to protect their customers in their stores and property. * This article stressing t hat Walmart is costing the state of Oklahoma *-* Billion dollars a year to respond to Walmart's crime problem caused by Walmart senior management's decisions to ignore their statutory responsibility to protect their customers while in their stores and on t heir property. **My afore-mentioned statement is supported by Walmart's documented policy to keep labor costs low and to reward upper management with cash awards for meeting this goal. Further, the night I was robbed, the evening shaft manager hugged me and whispered in my ear, "this is why none of the employees carry any personal items in the store". Additionally, the return clerk informed me three weeks after I as robbed that another women had her purse stolen inside the story but she was lucky because the police arrived as Walmart's security watched the thief walk out of the store with her purse. The return clerk told me that the criminals knows Walmart doesn't do a thing to prevent crime to customers, so it is getting really dangerous. The return clerk leaned forward and whispered to contact the national customer service number, but do not use her name because she will get fired.**MY STORY**Walmart filed criminal charges against me (Jo McCarty) with the Madison County Prosecutor which I received February *, ****, for alleging writing three bad checks (approximately $*** in total). Shockingly, I did not present these checks. I am the victim of robbery at Walmart and Walmart is the willing accomplice, as presented herein!* *Walmart's Green Mount Commons, Belleville, IL security team allowing the thief who robbed me on November **, ****, by freely walking out of their store after the security manager and two members of his team repeatedly assured me over the course of an hour, in the presence of an independent witness, that the thief would not to allowed to leave the store with my purse. The security manager and two plain clothed security team members had me identify my purse and then stated security was following the thief and that both store exits were manned. **The security manager asked me the approximate value of my purse and its content. I stated the purse was approximateIy $***-*** plus without the content, stressing it was designer purse. This did include the cost of my wallet, makeup plus a **-karet cross pen*pencil set that was a present from my husband years ago. Thus, my lose as a result of Walmart allowing the thief to leave with me purse exceeds their loss associated with the three bad checks Walmart elected to cash based on their failure to check identification. Hence, in the next few days, I plan on filing criminal charges against Walmart with the St. Clair County Prosecutor. I'm quite sure my criminal complaint will be ignored.**Not surprisingly, eight days after I was robbed at Walmart, our home was robbed. Two days later, our home was robbed again. Our loss is estimated at approximately $*** and growing, as it is hard to determine everything stolen until you are looking for a specific item and realize it is missing. Are the two robberies of our home associated with the Walmart robbery? That question remains to be answered. *However, what is certain is that the purse the thief stole contained my driver's license, military ID, medical cards, two check books, etc. Yet, knowing these facts, Walmart security allowed the thief to freely walk out of their store. Thus, in my opinion, making Walmart's security team accomplices. **Additionally, Walmart's security team was made aware my purse contained two check books with **-** blank checks associated with two separate accounts. Yet, Walmart's security failed to update their system to require ID, in the event any person tried to present checks with my identity. **Walmart's Green Mount Common store, is where I was robbed, and I subsequently learned the Glen Carbon store is where the three bad checks were written. However, these two stores are under the same district manager. Hence, Walmart knew, or should have known, unequivocally the criminal charges they filed against me were false. More importantly, Walmart would not have incurred any bad checks had they taken one simply step to update their system to require ID!* *The afore-mentioned facts can be confirmed by the only person who came to my assistance--a customer in the next lane who yelled isn't anyone going to help her! This witness yelled this because the checkout clerk (at the time I as robbed) simply pushed my cart out of the way and took the next customer! Hence, I was forced to run to customer services to DEMAND help. **Upon notification from TRS collections of a * checks accepted by (under $***), * checks accepted at Dollar Tree (under $**) as well as notification from MCA of * checks accepted by Schnucks (approximately $***) I went to my local Walmart and Schnucks store and provided copies and informed the respective on duty managers that the police informed me that these organizations failed to check identification via their established policies. Thus, their loses is due to their own policies and I cannot be held financial responsible. Each of these stores has security cameras and can file their own charges against the person(s) who presented the stolen checks. **Schnucks took immediate action, as did MCA, their check approval and collection company. On Sunday, December *, **** I went to Walmart. The weekend manager took copies of the three TRS notices involving the three bad checks and assured me the credit manager would research this matter on Monday, December *, ****. As were were returning to the front of the store I expressed my concern about the crime at Walmart. She stated it was problematic and had to call the police * times the day before. Just as we turned the corner into the main aisle, I policeman dressed in SWAT gear entered the store with an AR rifle stating he had a report of a customer with a gun. I this point, I left the store.**On December **, **** I received a second notice from TRS for one of the three checks Walmart cashed for $***.**. Once again, I took the initiative to contact Walmart. After a very long wait, I reached the store manager and had a conference call with the which included the security manager. throughout the call the security manager remained silent. After I explained the situation, the store manager processed to inform me that this was my problem not Walmart's because I hold onto my card. I stated the issue is checks, not a bank card. The call ended as the manager did not appear to be concerned with the facts. **I then contacted the National Customer Service number and spoke to a Walmart representative named Alvin. * Alvin stated he was documenting the details of my complaint. The call lasted ** minutes, with Alvin stating he was referring this matter to Market manager ****, who I subsequently learned was the manager over both the Green Mount Commons and the Glenn Carbon stores. Alvin stated Market Manager **** would contact me within three to five days. **On December **, ****, I also wrote TRS a five page letter outlining all of the facts associated with the initial November **, **** robbery and Walmart complicity. On January **, **** I received a pre-printed multi-page form back from TRS with two squares checked stating I did not provide them enough information to research my compliant, along with a black form to complete. Shockingly, with two exceptions the form requests the same information presented in my correspondence. * contains everything The two additional items TRS requests is my driver's license number and my social security, which is not necessary to research a report of being falsely accused of writing bad checks, but necessary if you plan on prosecuting me for allegedly writing bad checks. I plan on writing the president of TRS stressing how TRS has ruined both my husband and my standing in our community through the public humiliation by out checks being denied at retailers and businesses. Additionally, TRS had I responsibility to notify immediately their client, Walmart, that I disputed their false claim that I had cashed bad checks in their store.**Upon receipt of Madison County criminal notice received on February *, ****, I again called Walmart's National Customer Service Number and requested to speak to Alvin. The person responding stated she didn't know Alvin and I needed to provide her a claim number. I stated Alvin didn't give me a claim number. She stated she was transferring me call. The person she transferred me to was not in . Thus, I left a message on his for mail. **The person returned my call. I explained in detail what I have been going through to get Walmart to remedy this matter. The person then identified himself as Donnie Helton with Claims Management Inc. and had nothing to do with the issue I was having with Walmart. Donnie expained he was the insurance carrier and instructed me to call Walmart's Global Ethics Division and to let him know on Thursday, February *, **** the status of my situation because he had back channels he could speak to. However, I was not able to call Donnie back until *February **, ****. To date, Donnie has not returned my call.**To day, February **, **** I contacted Walmart's National Customer Services and requested the president's mailing address. I informed the representative, Logan, why I was requesting the president's addresses. He stated he was sorry I could not help me with my problem and looked up the president's address and told me Happy Valentine's Day. **Conclusion, Walmart's second pillar of their Global Ethics Division is customer service. As you can see from the efforts I have made to resolve a problem that is the result of Walmart's decision to IGNORE THEIR STATUTORY RESPONSIBILITY TO PROVIDE customer security in the stores and property has now escalated to Walmart ALLOWING THEIR CUSTOMERS TO BE ROBBED because Walmart knows the laws are written to protect Walmart at the victim's expense. Further, the collection laws are written to extort money from victims.**I hope you present my case. Please not that my friend was mugged in the parking lot of Glenn Carbon store using a well known tactic of picking an older person to ram with a cart, knocking them over, and taking their purse and purchases.
