Hi to whom,*My name is Fernando Cuevas and my wife (Carmen) and I entered the tour de fly on July *th in the Boca Raton, FL studio. Back in January of **** our friend had bought my wife a gift card to try Fly for her birthday and we tried it. We loved the competitive edge it had to other cycle places in our area. Within a few months, my wife got a hold of her technics and was putting up great numbers. When this competition was coming up, I told my wife to join. We read the terms and conditions prior to registering and came up with a game plan to move our schedule around for the month of July to try to win the bike offered. To win, you need to “accrue points based on your Power Score”. * After the first week, she was in *th place and was very excited and so was our studio. Some people that attend have traveled to other studios and commented that to be *th in a smaller studio for a nationwide contest was a great achievement. Not looking in to it we were happy. *The second week list came out and my wife had moved up to *th place and to my surprise I was also on the list at *th place on the men’s side. Again the studio was very excited and started putting our names on an outside board to congratulate us, but I always knew that my wife’s numbers were incredible and she would most likely win based on the drive she has and the numbers that she was putting up (averaging *** in a ** minute class and *** in hour classes). At this point we were on pace to do almost all the classes available to us in the ** days that the Tour De Fly had to offer in our studio. *Last and final Tour De Fly list of top ten on woman’s and men’s comes out. My wife ends up *th and I end up at *th. During the last week there was guest instructors that had informed us that they were shocked that a studio with so little classes had someone finish in *th place. There was also some other guest that travel to other locations and were telling me that other locations have more classes then we do? I did some research, re-read “Terms and Conditions for Participation in the Contest” and the locations that my wife was competing against in what was supposed to be a fair, even competition is structured unfairly? *The top * spots on the women’s list at the end of the contest: * First place in Dupont : estimated classes in the ** days of Tour De Fly classes available in that studio * ****Second place in Midtown East, NY: estimated classes in the ** days of Tour De Fly classes available in that studio * ******Third place in Boca Raton, FL (Our Studio): TRUE classes available in the ** days of Tour De Fly classes * *****Fourth place in Highland Park, TX: estimated classes in the ** days of Tour De Fly classes available in that studio * **** “Definition of rest and recovery: The Recovery Principle applies both to immediate rest needed between bouts of exercise, as well as to longer time intervals of several hours to about two days.”* My understanding of other studios having almost twice as many classes (and some more) to pick from gives them an unfair advantage to have a longer recovery time and rest. This was a competitive challenge with a number goal. In sports with number goals (scoring more to win an event) every athlete has the same recovery time. In football, basketball, soccer, hockey, baseball and any sport with rest*recovery periods in the game, both sides have the same amount of time to regroup, rest and stretch. We did ** out of ** classes available to us in this tour. We could not do any precision classes because they took place at the same time as bike classes and the points did not make sense. I was told by other instructors that some contestants were taking them in-between bike classes as recovery, but getting *** points. We completed **.**% of the classes available to us in this ** day challenge. I am asking if someone can check my statements on studio classes listed above and what type of compensation my wife and I can receive for the hard work we put in.
