I entered the store with my tote purse the store clerk asked me to leave my purse behind the counter regarding the size. I cooperated, but I let her know I am removing my valuables first. One wallet, cell phone, and check book. I proceeded to do so. She became agitated. I took my items. She set my leather tote purse in arms reach of customers who passed by behind the approximately ** in high swinging door. I asked her to put it in a more secure place as a customer could take my purse from where she set it on a counter. She was irritated and tossed my purse on the floor further behind the counter next to a trash can. I remarked give me my purse* I am leaving. I felt she had no respect for my property. I remarked actually you could have checked my purse before I left the store. She stood there I proceeded to take my purse and told her I'm leaving. The swing door was open, so I did not realize I entered about * inches behind the counter* there was no access to the cash register or anything of value. She said back up you need to leave. I took my purse and told her she did not need to be rude. I am leaving* she commented you need to leave and do not return to this store again. She was picking up the phone to call the police as I took my purse to leave as I was putting my items back in my purse. I remarked I am leaving she continued to pick up the phone. I walked out of the store. My purse cost $**.** and had items in it worth at least $**.**. The location of this store is Troy Avenue Pueblo, CO *****. This clerk mistreated me and is unprofessional. She abused her position. I was cooperative, and I have no problem leaving my tote bag in a secure location for store security purposes I understand this policy. I went to the Dollar General store and told them about the incident* she remarked that any purse over * inches could be checked before leaving, which would be handled with discretion. I told her they have not asked to search my purse, but when I pay for my items, I open my tote* so they can see in it as I remove my wallet. She stated that the clerk was disrespectful and unprofessional. The customers who heard me about * agreed I was mistreated and she was unprofessionally rude. I mentioned it was unbelievable she was going to call the police. I did not threaten or refuse anything she asked. And I was leaving with my possessions intact.
