I purchased a $40 Verizon refill card that didn't work. Verizon advised me to return it to Family Dollar for a refund due to an error code. When I did so, the store manager informed me they couldn't handle it in-store and provided a customer care number, but I was unable to reach anyone. I bought the refill on 12/20/19 and am seeking a full refund for the invalid card.

I have been a loyal customer of my local Family Dollar since May when I moved to the area. Unfortunately, today I experienced rude behavior from an employee, whom I believe is in a management position, for not the first time. As someone who has worked in Customer Service for over 30 years, I find this behavior unacceptable. I spend a significant amount of money at your store, but I will no longer be shopping there due to this experience. Please contact me at [redacted] to address this issue promptly. If I do not hear back, I may use my Podcast/Radio show, which reaches approximately one million listeners in the St. Louis Metro Area, to encourage others to boycott your store. Urgent response requested.

I recently made a payment using the Pay Near Me service at the Benld, Illinois store for $12 with a $3.99 fee, totaling $15.99. Unfortunately, TVG Games did not receive it, even though I have the receipt as proof. This issue needs to be resolved promptly, or I would like a refund. This seems to be a problem on Family Dollar's end. Please contact me quickly, as I am a dissatisfied and upset customer who frequents your Benld store daily. If not resolved, I will no longer support your businesses and will share my experience. I anticipate your prompt response. Thank you, Allen M. Receipt number: [redacted][redacted] on the barcode. I urgently require a call back at [redacted]. I am frustrated with not being able to speak with a customer service representative promptly. I have a financial stake in an undelivered purchase documented in a receipt. I demand immediate assistance rather than a business days' waiting time. Your expedited attention is appreciated.

I submitted a job application to Store [redacted] in October [redacted]. However, I was informed that my background check was pending. I reached out to Sterling Corp., the company responsible for the background check, and was advised to contact Family Dollar for store assignment. Upon returning to Store [redacted] in Belmont, NC, I was informed that I could not be hired due to issues with my background check. After contacting Sterling regarding this matter, I was advised to reach out to the corporate office for further assistance. I believe the manager at Store [redacted] provided misleading information. As a result, I am currently pursuing legal action against her and Family Dollar.

At a local Family Dollar store in Charleston, WV, two employees verbally harassed and cursed at me regarding my service animal. Despite explaining to one employee off the clock that my animal was a service animal, she insisted on seeing papers at the door, questioning its legitimacy. I calmly asserted my rights as a service animal owner, but the situation escalated. The employee at the register intervened, making inappropriate comments. Throughout the ordeal, my service dog remained by my side. The incident left me feeling embarrassed, disrespected, and harassed. I hope to discuss this matter further when contacted. Thank you in advance.

I had a distressing experience at a local Family Dollar on Bigley Ave. in Charleston, WV. Two employees harassed and used inappropriate language towards me regarding my service animal. Despite explaining to one employee (who was off the clock) about my service animal, the situation escalated as she insisted I show paperwork at the door. I calmly asserted my rights as a service animal owner, but the employees continued to demand paperwork and became verbally aggressive. The exchange was disrespectful and embarrassing. I would appreciate discussing this matter further when contacted. Thank you in advance.

I am attempting to get in touch with Human Resources as I was terminated from my job today. I am confused as to why this happened, as I only missed work twice and was late a few times but I always informed them. I had a dental appointment to have my wisdom teeth removed on December 23rd, which my manager asked me to reschedule due to work commitments on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. I rearranged it for December 31st, a day when I was already granted time off. However, my mouth was still healing from the procedure, and despite reaching out for the new schedule, I was informed I had "zero hours" and later found out I was terminated due to absenteeism. I have tried contacting my manager and district manager but have received no response. Please reach out to me at [redacted] or have someone from HR contact me. Thank you, Elektra Beard.

I attempted to buy four items, but was unable to because they were not in the system. If items are displayed with a price, they should be available for purchase. This experience at your Zachary Louisiana store number [redacted] was disappointing. I needed these items for my nephews' upcoming birthdays, and after spending an hour searching, I left empty-handed. Customer service needs improvement. - Donnie

I was recently terminated for a no-call, no-show incident. I had always been dedicated to my job, working tirelessly even as I advanced to a managerial role and excelled in various tasks. Unfortunately, I encountered a troubling situation on my way home from work involving some individuals who threatened me, leading to a physical altercation and ultimately resulted in my arrest. The charges against me were dropped, but due to the circumstances, I missed work while in jail. Despite my efforts to explain the situation to my store manager and my commitment to my job, I was informed that I was not eligible for rehire. This ordeal has been particularly challenging for me as I have dealt with personal tragedies, including the loss of family members, while feeling unsupported by management. I am disheartened by the outcome and feel that my dedication and positive contributions to the workplace have been overlooked in light of this one unfortunate incident.

I had a terrible experience at Family Dollar on 18th Street & Paulina on 1/7/20 between 8-8:30 am. The employee was incredibly rude, uncooperative, and disrespectful. When I requested a bag, she refused, yelled at me, and even mocked me to another customer. She made me bag my own items and didn't bother to assist. I left the store carrying items in my hands because she wouldn't provide a bag. It was a frustrating and disrespectful encounter with an obnoxious, lazy, and rude employee.

I live in senior housing near the store at [redacted] E. New York St in Aurora, IL. On Jan 11, [redacted], I had an unpleasant experience at the store. When I tried to return some items, the manager Esther was aggressive and yelled at me, making me feel disrespected. She didn't handle the situation professionally or respectfully. I wanted to address this issue, but when I asked for the corporate number, it took a while to get it. I believe Esther needs training in customer service and should be reprimanded for her behavior. I work in retail and understand the importance of good customer service. Most employees at the store are friendly, but Esther's behavior was unacceptable. I hope this incident can be resolved respectfully. You can reach me at [redacted] or [redacted]. Sincerely, M. Smith

I'm Cormicka from Tifton, GA. I visited store [redacted] and purchased a speaker for my daughters. However, it plays very softly, so I tried to return it with my receipt. When I was told it could only be exchanged due to being opened, I was surprised. The cashier mentioned a sticker indicating it could only be exchanged, but I never saw one on my product or others in the store. I simply want a refund since I wasn't adequately informed. I'm disappointed with the service received and considering filing a civil complaint. If needed, I can be reached at [redacted]. Thank you.

I recently purchased 8 Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches from the local store at [redacted] Abbott Road in Lackawanna, NY at $1 each. Two days later, my son microwaved 2 sandwiches and noticed a strange smell while they cooked. Upon inspection, they were past their expiration date of June [redacted]. I wrapped the 2 sandwiches with the other 6 expired ones to return, but I had no receipt. I brought them back to the store to show the dates on the products for an exchange, but I was denied by the staff member on duty. She advised me to check the dates before buying, which I found unhelpful. I am concerned for my children's health and would like a refund for the expired products. Thank you.

The store on Northland Blvd in Forest Park, Ohio has been experiencing irregular closures lately. On various days, such as a Tuesday, Sunday, Thursday at 4 pm, and Friday at 1 pm, the store has been unexpectedly closed. This inconsistency in their operating hours has been frustrating for many, especially for an elderly shopper I assist. She relies on this store for groceries and has been met with locked doors without any prior notice of closure. It is disappointing that such unreliability in their schedule is causing inconvenience to the community. If the store is facing permanent closure, it should be communicated clearly. The lack of transparency and adherence to schedule is highly unsatisfactory for customers who depend on its services.

I visited my local Family Dollar in Alachua, Florida and had a disappointing experience. The cashier got into an argument with me about a discounted price on a set of hexagon shelves. The item was located where the sticker indicated a markdown, and surrounding items were also on sale. The shelf set was labeled at the original price of $15, but the cashier refused to honor it, even though I was buying other clearance items priced at $9 and $10. Feeling frustrated, I decided to abandon the purchase as the cashier started mocking me to another customer. This encounter has made me reconsider returning to Family Dollar as the atmosphere doesn't feel welcoming anymore, and the cashier's behavior was extremely rude and unhelpful.

On Saturday, February 25, [redacted], I visited Family Dollar at noon. While I was being checked out by the manager, another customer accused me of stealing a jar of peanut butter the day before. Despite denying it, the manager publicly searched my pockets, causing embarrassment. I have a good reputation in Timpson, where I frequently shop at this store. I feel humiliated and wrongly accused. I want to address this situation. My name is Cynthia Brinson, residing at [redacted] North 3rd St., Timpson, Texas [redacted]. I am adamant that I did not steal anything from the store.

I work at a Family Dollar store in Oil City, Pennsylvania, and I have some concerning insights that I believe need to be addressed by higher-ups. There is an issue with an employee named Frank who seems to be making inappropriate advances towards female customers, leading to potentially dangerous situations. Recently, a misunderstanding almost escalated into a physical altercation because of his behavior. Additionally, there is a possible association with a known violent sex offender who hangs around the store regularly. This individual is not an employee but assists with stocking freight and has been making inappropriate comments towards me. I am seeking assistance from someone in management or a higher authority to address these issues promptly.

I would like to file a complaint about the extremely rude store clerk, Lisa. I have had two unpleasant encounters with her, where she mocked my accent a few months ago and today made fun of my English. I felt threatened when she threatened to call the police on me simply for wanting to return a product. This behavior is unacceptable, especially since I have been a customer at this store for 17 years. Despite trying to complain before, I received no response and now I avoid her whenever possible due to feeling humiliated in front of other customers. I hope to receive a response this time, otherwise I may seek legal help, as I have been unable to reach anyone in customer service by phone. Please contact me as this situation has escalated too far.

The Family Dollar store at [redacted] Greenfield Street in Wilmington, NC, is experiencing several concerning issues. The store is situated near a Section 8 HUD welfare housing apartment complex. Most of the employees are African American, except for one Caucasian staff member. As a white customer, there are ongoing problems related to the behavior and professionalism at this particular store. Employees frequently play slang, swear, and blast rap and R&B music. Some bring their young children to work, don't wear proper uniforms, and exhibit rude and unfocused behavior when approached for assistance. Customers have observed inappropriate activities such as drug transactions, unhygienic practices, and minors buying unsuitable items. The customer raises concerns about being consistently carded while witnessing inadequate cleanliness and service. They suggest implementing surveillance cameras in the store to address these issues promptly.
