I have a **** Dodge Ram **** *.* liter hemi. Ii was fine with a nice sound when I bought it at a used car dealer back in January ****. About * months later it developed a tick. I googled Dodge forums to find that there were an amazing number of people had the same problem occur. It was reported that the exhaust manifold bolts are breaking off, causing the tick and the exhaust manifold gasket to fail as well. In some extreme cases warping the exhaust manifold or cracking the header. Those with original factory warranties where able to have it fixed no problem. Except the tick returns if you do not replace all the bolts with stainless steel bolts. Some had after market warranties that would or would not fix them after the deductible was met. My warranty is coving nothing leaving me to pay for the entire $**** repair. I did go to Christopher Dodge World in Golden and they verified that I indeed had two broken bolts and a damaged gasket. I am very disappointed that I bought a vehicle from a manufacturer than used sub-grade bolts and then left it's buyers to foot the bill when they began breaking . This should be a recall item and Dodge should be footing the bill for their mistake. There are numerous forums stating that this is an ongoing problem and Dodge is clearly avoiding responsibility for using sub-grade parts. Coincidentally, my Dodge dealer just happens to have stainless steel bolts in stock to fix the issue. Hmmm, isn't that funny. So they know its a problem. I would like a reply as to why you are not issuing a recall on the faulty parts and owning up to the problems you created.
