I had purchased a Brics cabin bag almost * years ago( at the point of giving it for repair) in Bloomingdales, White Planes NY.*Within one year after purchasing it, I noticed the trim was peeling off. It slowly peeled badly in the corners patches and the handle . As I live in India , I only had an opportunity to go to NY last month. Well I did give the proof of purchase* guarantee slip to the Bloomingdales luggage department, A lady had accepted the slip and did all the paper work for me to send in to the repair center and charging me $** for posting.*The surprising and weird situation is, the lady who took in the bag for repair took my slip too. She only gave me memo order with my address for delivery and the bill for $** postage .etc. and she did not leave her name in the employee slot or any such details.*A month later, I get a call from the repair section saying they can only change the handle and not the corners or the trim. Well that is an eyesore and I wouldn’t be able to use it all. They wouldn’t replace another bag for the approximately same priced one either. They are saying it’s more than * years, so it’s not within the gaurentee period for any exchanges. Which is not true.*Well, it was narrowly within the period, otherwise there is no way the Bloomingdales employee would have accepted in the *st place . Nor would I have taken so much trouble getting it all the way from India. *This is Brics! A good reputable company. This is Bloomingdales, my favourite go to shop.I would have thought the service would be trouble free and easy. So right now I do not know whom to go to. Last week I made many calls to repair center and Bloomingdales, but did not fill enough information in the repair voucher to track the lady who accepted and sent it , and the repair centre cannot do more than replacing only the Handle. *I do hope to get a reply soon and restore my confidence in Brics Luggage and Bloomingdales customer care department. Thank you. *Ps-As I cannot attest a copy of the postage bill for$** and the repair voucher in this slot, so I will just wait for your email reply.
