The issue in GetHuman-lorrieke's own words
Hi, Just had to cancel some guests today (was within the ** hours allowed) due to the fact that COVID ** is spiking (the California Gov. is locking down much of California again) and we are not comfortable renting and encouraging travel while this is happening. We have now incurred a $*** fee from airbnb. We as hosts are very disheartened that you would charge us $*** when cases are again spiking, much of California is back on lockdown and WE DO NOT FEEL SAFE renting our home. From April until June we lost tens of thousands of dollars when airbnb decided to refund all of our reservations despite our strict cancellation policy (and our county was not on lockdown when they made this decision!) - now that WE DO NOT FEEL SAFE, months later (and thousands of deaths later), WE ARE BEING FINED for cancelling guests for the same thing airbnb chose to do * months ago? I am writing to ask that you reverse this charge against us. THIS HYPOCRISY IS NOT OKAY. Please talk to whatever supervisor necessary and confirm with us that we will not be charged (and please remember - we've already lost thousands and thousands of dollars!).
