I am seeking a refund of $*** for the extra service fee being charged by Air BnB. * On Oct **, within the space of ** minutes I have been charged for * venues in Hobart Tasmania for our stay ** - ** Nov. I pressed the button to pay for my original, preferred venue and received the message that these above dates were already taken. Which confused me because I received an SMS to say my booking had been successful. even though I hadn't entered my credit card details to pay. As my preferred venue was now taken. I had no choice but to search for another venue, book and pay.**Unknown to me Air BnB have credit card details which I no longer use for online payments. and these were used to process payment on the original venue. At no time was I given instructions to "Pay Now". It was only when I checked my emails that I became aware of the double payment when this email came from Air BnB. (see immediately below) . . . . .*"You could be charged for multiple reservations**We noticed that you submitted multiple requests for the same dates on Airbnb. You could get charged for multiple reservations if all the hosts accept your requests.**If you don’t intend to stay at all of these listings, cancel the requests you don’t want confirmed. Hosts will have ** hours to respond to your request before it expires. If your request expires, you can send again."**Yesterday I cancelled the second booking and received the following email that a $*** service fee will still be charged by Air BnB. **Reservation Canceled**The Villa at ***. Brand new contemporary apartment * Nov ** - Nov ****We’ve issued a refund of $***.** AUD to your MASTERCARD **** ****.**Refund Details**Reservation Price**$***.** AUD**Cleaning Fees**$**.** AUD**Service fee (Non-refundable)**($***.** AUD)**Total refund**$***.** AUD**Given that we are already paying Air BnB a service fee for our stay in Hobart, and because we were not given the opportunity to provide new credit card details which lead me to conclude that I had not paid for my original, preferred venue, I think it only fair that the second payment of $*** be returned.**Michael and Joan Dickins
