This is more of a complaint and this complaint has been forwarded to the BBB as every attempt I made to resolve the issue was met with another problem. Even when I spoke with a supervisor he was arrogant and pompous and did not feel the need to want to help or resolve the problem. **We sent in a check to renew my wife's membership with AAA (***********). However we never received a new membership card. After a while we called to find out why we hadn't received a card. We were told AAA had not received payment and needed proof from my bank. We contacted our bank and were told AAA cashed our check on ******, as an ACH payment and could not provide a copy of the check but could send us a letter of confirmation with a trace number to provide to you, AAA as proof of the payment. The letter was submitted to you AAA. Again we were told this was not enough. Speaking with customer support we were were told that a payment of $**.** was confirmed in your system but the system did not indicate what the payment was for. So, we went in circles with you AAA and the bank trying to figure this out. My bank said it would be impossible to obtain a copy of the check submitted because it was processed as an ACH payment as previously stated. They suggested we speak with a supervisor at AAA and put them on the line as a three way conversation, which we requested and spoke with. He was rude from the beginning and made it seem like it was our fault and indicated he could do nothing to help without a copy of the check. I explained our banks issues and asked if the bank could get on the line with him and help figure out the issue. He stated he could not and stated nothing could be done without a copy of the check. I asked how AAA could process a check and show it was in the system but not be applied to an account. He stated he was not sure and indicated until a copy of the check was submitted he could do nothing because the money was in limbo (what the heck does that mean?). I made several attempts to get him to understand our predicament and he replied, "It's just $**.**!" This set me over the edge and I lost my cool. I used some colorful words and asked if AAA was in the business of accepting checks for memberships and not applying it to accounts. In essence stealing peoples money. The supervisor threatened to hang up on me and stated he didn't have to listen to my complaint. I told him he was right but that he was not making easy by not being willing to speak with my bank. The fact of the matter is that we sent in payment and AAA processed my check. I am out a measly $**.** according to the supervisor I spoke with. Attempts to rectify the situation were not received well and the supervisor who I ended up speaking with was a rude SOB. I do regret cursing at him, but to imply that it's just $**.** was very unprofessional. To some that may not be a lot of money but to others it is. We've always been happy with our service and membership with AAA but this experience has left a bad taste in my mouth. It's sad when a big corporation takes advantage of their customers and don't really care about how they disrespect and treat them. Especially when the customer can and has submitted the necessary information that could be provided through the bank. I would hope that you look back at how you handle customer issues so you don't lose more customers. I hope you go back and look at the notes from the account and see what I am saying. Again, you will see every effort was made on my part and not much on yours. You will also see that I lost my cool but it was hard not to with the way the supervisor handled the problem.**Not that this complaint will do much or make it to someone who can incorporate a change or someone higher than the pompous supervisor that handled our call.
