I don't usually use Dollar Rent-A-Car, but a friend recommended them for my next trip so I figured that I would give them a try. However, while I was trying to book my rental online I ran into a few questions so I decided that I would just call and see if I could talk to someone instead.
When I called, a virtual agent picked up and said,"Thank you for calling Dollar Rent-A-Car. For faster service, you can take care of booking reservations, profiles updates, and much more at Dollar.com. For support related to an upcoming reservation, press 1. For a rental in progress, press 2. For a completed rental, press 3. For rewards queries, press 4."
I listened to the options twice actually because I didn't have a reservation, but one seemed like the closest option to choose from. I turned out to be right, but I feel like they could have made those options a bit easier by saying for "new reservations." Then I was told, "To book or modify upcoming reservations in US or Canada, press 1. To book or modify an upcoming reservation outside of the US or Canada, press 2." I chose one and it offered me two choices that pertained to my situation which were, "To book a future reservation or check rates within US or Canada, press 1. If you have not yet picked up your vehicle and want to change or cancel an existing reservation, press 2."
I was then told once again to go online as they agent said, "To book a new reservation, please visit Dollar.com where you will find our best rates guaranteed. Stay on the line if you want to be connected to an agent." However, I stayed on the line and was offered a callback service. It's a good thing they did because the callback ended up being well over half an hour.

GetHuman does not provide call center services or customer support operations for Dollar Rent A Car. The two organizations are not related. GetHuman builds free tools, researches information, and shares tips and tricks from other consumers to help customers of companies like Dollar Rent A Car. That can include tools such as our GetHuman Phone, which allows you to call a company but skip the part where you wait on the line to get a live human rep, or talk to a company's customer service operation for you. GetHuman believes that this fills an important gap between fragmented support models, makes the customer care experience more uniform, and even answers questions that businesses and agencies are reluctant to answer (but shouldn't be) - making the customer experience less confusing for all. We continue to work on these tools to help customers like you (and ourselves!) navigate the messy phone menus, hold times, and confusion with customer service. As long as you keep sharing it with others, we'll keep improving it.
