What are the different rate plans available for residential customers?

Westar Energy Inc offers a range of rate plans designed to meet the diverse needs of its residential customers. Currently, our residential customers can choose between two primary rate plans: the Standard Residential Rate and the Time-of-Use Rate (TOU). The Standard Residential Rate is a flat rate plan where customers pay the same rate per kilowatt-hour (kWh) of electricity consumed, regardless of the time of day. On the other hand, the TOU Rate plan offers different rates based on the time of day, with higher rates during peak hours and lower rates during off-peak hours. This plan provides customers with more flexibility to shift their electricity consumption to off-peak periods, potentially enabling them to save on their energy bills. Westar Energy Inc also offers additional options such as the Budget Billing program to help customers manage their monthly energy costs.
