To receive unemployment benefits, you must meet the following criteria:You lost your previous job through no fault of your own. If you were laid off, for example, then you would qualify for benefits, but if you were fired for some cause such as being chronically late, you would not be eligible.You need to be able to work, both physically and mentally.You must be available to work if you find it.You need to have worked a minimum of 680 hours in the state of Washington in the last year.

To check your claim status, you need to register for an eServices account, if you have not already done so as a part of your application.

How Do I Check the Status of My Unemployment Claim with the Washington Unemployment Insurance Claims Center? (Step 1)

Click on the "Create New Account" button.

You will have to scroll down to see it.

Enter your name, birth date, and the other personal information you are asked for.

If you want additional security for your account, provide the optional extra contact information you are asked for.

Enter a username and password for your new eServices account.

Complete the CAPTCHA and click on the "Register your user account" button.

Check for an email from eServices and click on the activation link contained in the email.

Enter your eServices password in the text field and click on "Continue."

You will be brought to a page with the message "You're almost there!"

Click on "Continue" once again.

Click on "Verify my identity."

Provide the requested information to verify your identity, fill out the CAPTCHA, and then click the "Next" button.

Click on "Apply for unemployment benefits or manage your past claims."

Enable two-step verification by selecting a second contact method.

This will make your account much more secure.

Select a method to receive login verification codes in the future.

You can choose either text or email verification.

Check your email or text messages for the verification code you were just sent and enter it.

Select the option to have the eServices site remember the device you used to set up the account to make future logins faster.

Do not select this option if you are on a public or shared device.

Go to the eServices home page.

Enter your username and password in the sign in widget.

Click on the "View Benefit Payments" option on your account dashboard.

You can see your unemployment claim status here.
