Can I appeal a decision made by the Department of Social & Health Services?

Asked 6 months ago
Yes, you can appeal a decision made by the Washington State Department of Social & Health Services (DSHS). If you disagree with a decision regarding your benefits or services, you have the right to request an appeal. You must submit an appeal request within 90 days of receiving the decision letter. Appeals can be requested online, by mail, fax, or in-person at your local DSHS office. Once your appeal is received, a hearing will be scheduled where you can present evidence and arguments to support your case. After the hearing, an Administrative Law Judge will review the evidence and make a decision. If you disagree with the judge's decision, you have the option to further appeal to the Board of Appeals.
