What are the requirements for patentability?

Asked a year ago
To be eligible for patentability, an invention must meet certain criteria. Firstly, the invention needs to be novel, meaning it is new and has not been publicly disclosed before. Additionally, the invention must involve an inventive step, meaning it is not obvious to someone with ordinary skills in the relevant field. The invention must also have industrial applicability, meaning it can be used or made in some kind of industry. Certain subject matters like laws of nature, physical phenomena, and abstract ideas are not considered patentable. Moreover, the invention must be adequately described and claimed in a written document, enabling a person skilled in the field to replicate and use it. Finally, the invention should not be disclosed or on sale for more than a year prior to filing the patent application to comply with the novelty requirement.
