How do I transfer ownership of a vehicle?

Asked 6 months ago
To transfer ownership of a vehicle in Tennessee, the current owner must sign and date the back of the title, including the odometer reading and sales price. The new owner will also need to sign the title and complete a title application form, along with providing proof of identification and insurance. The completed paperwork and appropriate fees must be submitted to the Tennessee DMV within 15 days of the transaction to update the vehicle's ownership. It is important to ensure all information is accurate and that both parties have a copy of the transaction for their records.
